About Thomas Kraft
Florida has always been our dream, so in 1997 we bulit our first house in Cape Coral, the Villa Pelican. In 2011 our son was grown up, so we sold the Villa Pelican to have more time to spent our vacations somewhere else, but the 'homesickness' to Florida was too strong. After renting other houses in Cape Coral we found the beautiful Villa Ibis and decided to buy it.
Thomas Kraft purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Thomas Kraft chose Trafalgar
just look at the pictures and you know why !! Even more beautiful and better equipped than our 'old' Villa Pelican, which was very popular with many returning tenants. Ideal southern exposure of the pool, so the sun is on the pooldeck all day. The walking distance to the nearest golf club is unique, and the next shopping malls and outlet centers are only minutes away by car.
What makes this Villa unique
Private solar heated, south facing pool, wonderful canal views, luxurious, spacious and fully equipped, low prices, absolute top amenities

Disappointed with pool maintenance - had to call 2x to get pool cleaned - lost 2 1/2 days of pool use with weather un the high 30’s
I'm very sorry that this happened. I myself did not know that the pool guy will not come. He did not inform us that he no longer makes the job. He just did not come anymore. Very unreliable people sometimes, myself very upset about it.
Sorry agai - we have a new pool guy now!!
Better than expected
The photos do not do this house justice! It is beautiful in a quiet residential neighborhood but close to anything you may need. This was the perfect backdrop to our family vacation. I am already planning when we can get there again!!
A Memorable Stay
We absolutely LOVED our stay in the Villa IBIS, Cape Coral home. We found it to be well decorated and roomy. The master suite was very spacious as well as the ensuite with a separate shower, water closet, and soaker/garden tub. The two other bedrooms were also roomy with plenty of storage space. The beds were very comfortable.
The kitchen was well stocked with almost everything you could need.... cutlery, glasses, mugs, cups, wine glasses, plates, bowls, pots, pans..... Although we didn't use them, there was a coffee maker and blender. There is just too much to list.
The lanai included a table with 6 chairs and two lounge chairs. Although we didn't use them, they had two bikes in the garage. You can also find additional lounge chairs, cushions, an inflated float, ice coolers, etc in in the garage.
We enjoyed it so much we already booked our next vacation here for next year! Can't wait to return!
thank you very much for your review. We're looking forward to have you again as our guests next year. :)
Beautiful house in perfect southern exposure
The large pool of the Villa Ibis has an ideal southern exposure, which gives you sun all day long.
The villa itself is very nicely divided and the master bedroom and bathroom leave nothing to be desired. We felt immediately right from the first moment. Everything you needed could be found in the house, everything was clean and worked well.
The surroundings of Villa Ibis are very beautiful, the canal is quiet and you do not notice the neighborhood either.
The contact with the owners was friendly and accommodating and in our opinion could not have been better. Also, we were provided with all necessary information before arrival.
So thank you very much for a nice holiday at Villa Ibis. We will definitely come back when we return to Cape Coral.
Nice house, but be prepared for hidden charges
I'll start with the positives. The house itself is nice. It was clean and ready, there is an abundance of dishes, pots, pans, etc. in the kitchen. The pool and lanai are great, we did a lot of eating outside. It's in a safe neighborhood. Location-wise, if you are looking to be away from the touristy beach scene, it's perfect, as it is literally in the middle of Cape Coral in a neighborhood.
One thing you need to be prepared for is the traffic getting to places like Ft. Myers, Naples, Bonita, Sanibel, etc. If you are here during spring break, plan on it taking you 50% longer than normal to get anywhere. We stayed here as a home base but were out around the area each day, and spent a lot of time in traffic. Just something to keep in mind depending on what you are planning on doing during your stay.
Now for the not-so-great: First, we were charged a "foreign transaction fee" for our payments through VRBO, which we were not made aware of when booking. Second, the code on the lock box was changed from what we were told, which meant after driving 21 hours with my exhausted family, we pull in to find we cannot access the house. An email apprising us of that and telling us to call when we get there would have been appropriate. Erik, the local property manager, was less than patient and gave me an attitude about it. Third, the amount of electricity you are "allowed" for the week is unreasonably low. We followed the instructions to set the thermostat higher during the day, turned lights off, etc. and still got hit with extra fees for usage after our trip. We have never encountered this before. Also, they do not leave enough toilet paper for a family for an entire week, we ended up having to purchase our own. The women's bicycle had a blown tire; the owner expects you to repair/replace if you would like to use it. Needless to say, we did not use the bikes. You are also responsible for propane in the grill. There is a tank that is locked up for "emergency use only" (per Erik). There were also burnt out lightbulbs in the ceiling so it made the house a little dark inside. If it weren't for these issues, we would have rated the property higher.
Hello Heidi, thanks for your criticism, even if I think that you are a bit meticulous
If you have to pay VRBO fees, that's not my problem, but a VRBO issue.
The traffic at this time of the year is normal, because you are not the only one who enjoys the beautiful Florida weather over winter here.
It is always very busy at this time of the year.
For the wrong access code, I apologize, the housekeeper had set it wrong and forgotten to correct.
But it quickly became clear.
It is also a self-catering house. Toilet paper is provided for the first days, then you have to buy it yourself. Likewise the other consumables. That is normal!
If you want all inclusive, you have to go to the hotel.
By the way, a lightbulb can break, all the bulbs have now been replaced, and all other things have been repaired.
We enjoyed our weeks stay at this home. The home was beautiful and relaxing, very well equipped, it had everything you might need for a nice vacation. A lot of space to spread out . Having breakfast by the pool in the lanai was a good way to start the day. Nice neighborhood to go for and walk and see the wildlife. We hope to be able to return in the future.
Thanks for your nice review. We would be happy to have you again as our guests
