Nice Place Negated by Poor Host
Place was fairly clean and comfortable with no issues. Location is choice, right near everything in Montrose.
Poor rating is due to interaction with the property management. I booked this place in advance of the College Football National Championship. On day of arrival, the property contacted me telling me an "unforeseen maintenance issue" meant the property was unavailable. Not ideal but I guess things happen. They offered replacement properties miles away from where I desired to be located and lower quality than this property. I assumed availability was low and this was the best they had so I offered to just take a full refund and I would make more expensive accommodations at a place I desired. The property manager was open to this but this is where it takes a turn:
The property manager requested that I "cancel the reservation from my end". This is obviously a bad idea as it puts me at risk of penalty rather than the property manager. I responded that either the property manager can provide the full refund or provide me the original property. Miraculously, moments later, the property manager indicated that their contractors were able to solve the issue and the property was available again. Further, when check-in came at 6PM, no access info was provided in advance and I had to make several calls to gain access.
All in all, even if one assumes all of this was bad coincidence, this is unprofessional at best and is not to be tolerated, so I rated low.
