A beautifully decorated house with breathtaking views over the fjord, the Hofsá River, and mountains. The house is within walking distance of the local infinity pool and basalt columns.
Hofsós is one of the old fishing villages you visit when travelling off the beaten track on The Arctic Coast Way in North Iceland. Here, you´ll find a small infinity pool built into a hillside overlooking the fjord Skagafjörður and the majestic Drangey island. Down by the ocean, you´ll find beautiful little quaint houses, such as the restaurant Retro Mathus (open daily during summer) and The Icelandic Emigration Center (Vesturfarasetrið á Hofsósi). The Emigration Center is dedicated to the westward migration of Icelanders to North America, which peaked at the start of the 19th century. The museum is open daily during the summer months. In the village, you will also find a supermarket (open daily during summer), a Self-service gas station, and a playground for children.
