Enter a long (400’) private driveway through beautiful native Florida vegetation.
You will reach our home, built in 1946. It was the third home built on Manasota Key.
Welcome to our very private beach getaway.

Our section of Manasota Key has a recently renourished beach with more than 80' of sandy beach between our deck and the Gulf of Mexico.

Beautiful Manasota Key is a quaint barrier island. Our home is located about halfway down the length of the key. It is not far from 4 major airports: Tampa (TPA), Sarasota (SRQ), and St. Petersburg-Clearwater (PIE) to the north and Ft. Myers (RSW) and Punta Gorda (PGD) to the south.
Our home is cozy and pleasantly rustic. It is perfect for a couple or a family. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The kitchen is large and contains just about every tool or appliance you could want. For outdoor cooking, there is also a gas grill. Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room, which overlooks the Gulf of Mexico through a double set of sliding glass doors. Outside the glass doors is a large deck.

More property description : Just a few steps from the deck is beautiful Manasota Key Beach. The private beach extends 1-1/2 miles south and 1 mile north…which means no crowds. The total beach extends about 4 miles to the south, ending at Stump Pass, and about 7 miles to the north. You will find the warm and usually clear blue waters of the Gulf a perfect place for your vacation! For those who prefer smooth, glassy waters, you should walk the beach in the early morning. Shark teeth and shells are abundant!

Best spot on the beach

My family has been coming to Manasota key for years and this is THE most amazing place we’ve ever stayed! The check in process was a breeze and the owner was so nice and helpful. The house is right in the sand. You can literally step out on the back deck and there’s the sand and the ocean. This place is so private and peaceful and quiet! The kitchen is well stocked with lots of spices and a keurig coffee pot as well as a standard one. There’s a laundry room with an oversized washer and dryer. We will definitely be returning!

True Beach Cottage on the Gulf

We were very fortunate enough to stumble across Jim’s VRBO ad following a week long cancellation. The cottage is more than we could have hoped for. The location is RIGHT on the beach and the cottage definitely has an Old Florida charm about it. The beach front is uniquely private. We were so enchanted that we signed up for two weeks later this year and two weeks early next year.. Jim and Don are wonderful hosts. If you can find dates that work for you GRAB them! You will not be disappointed!

Hi there, I am Jim Denison.
I live up the road a bit from our beach house. I spent most of my live being a building contractor, so I know how to take care of things, which is a very good skill to have owning a 70 year old beach house in Florida. The house is in very good condition...for a home buillt in 1946!! It has everything you need to enjoy our property for a week or a few months.

Why they chose this property

This property was bought by my grandfather in 1945, In 1946 he built the beach house and 2 garages and a guest house. I have spent scores of vacations in this house from the late 50's to the mid 70's. My grandparents lived in this house from 1946 until about '68. Then my parents moved from their home in Rocky River, Ohio to this house in '72 and stayed until they passed away in '05 and '08. We have been renting the house for about 18 years now.

What makes this property unique

It seems that most Vrbo rentals carefully craft and crop their photo's so the viewers can't see that 3 story condo or other rental cottages that are 8 feet away. You won't be sharing your beach front view or deck with other renters at our property because you will be the only renter using our beach front facilities...as well as our private dock on the bay.
