With one and a half acres of tranquil woodland property, this multi-level home just south of downtown Fort Bragg provides unmatched relaxation among the redwoods and firs. The 2,150-square-foot living space is accented with contemporary and functional furnishings. Outside, you'll find a private hot tub, a gas grill, and multiple decks for alfresco meals, evening stargazing, and peaceful solitude at any time of day.

You'll find plenty to explore on this spacious piece of forested property, as well as lovely residential roads for hiking and cycling in the surrounding area. The open ocean and the rugged bluffs are a short walk across Shoreline Highway, and Jug Handle State Natural Reserve - a scenic park with a beach, forests, and a trail through layered rock formations - is one mile south. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens are one mile north and downtown Fort Bragg is three miles beyond, where you'll find the Skunk Train (a historic railroad that passes through old-growth redwoods and the Noyo River canyon) and the ever-unique, treasure-scattered Glass Beach. Six miles south is the village of Mendocino, which is home to an assortment of galleries, coffee shops, and great restaurants.

Exactly what we needed

House was in an amazing location. Close to everything but tucked away. You would never know it was back there, off of a one lane dead end. 4 beds, 3 baths. Hot tub was great! Used the outdoor bbq every evening. Everything was perfect!

Mendocino house. Well situated between Mendocino and Foet Bragg

Great place for couples. Three comfortable beds. 2 kings 1 Queen. Separate bathrooms. Nice hot tub and fire pit. Easy check in and out. Common space small but met our needs. Car charger a plus. Had some issues with plumbing that the management addressed.

Amazing property

Just outside of the hustle of town yet close enough to make a quick trip to the store. Right in the middle of the local attractions.

Very Peaceful Escape!

Loved the calmness this property and home provided. There is one close neighbor but aside from that you feel secluded. Super close to several beaches and the lovely town of Fort Bragg. Hot tub surrounded by beautiful tall trees. If stairs are an issue for anyone in your group this might not be an ideal property. Very clean and plenty of space in every bedroom. Lots of area to entertain outside whether around gorgeous camp like setting fire pit or huge driveway. Living room and kitchen are smaller, but very cozy and comfortable. I can’t wait to book this property again!!

Great stay!

Forest hideaway was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. It was close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg and many state parks, but it was still super quiet and peaceful. The house was clean. The property was comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, barbecue, and playing corn hole. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were spacious. We contacted the staff a couple of times with some questions, and they were quick to respond and help. We definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Forest hide away

The house was really nice extremely big it was a nice little vacation getaway. Literally the only thing that I would complain about is the fact that I wish there was more safety options for babies like baby gates because it is a three-story house and maybe some toys but other than that it was a great place and will be visiting again

Family Retreat In The Woods

The place was great. We initially had booked another property which became unavailable due to a maintenance issue, and Vacasa swiftly improvised and offered this one instead. The staff (via email and phone) was very friendly and helpful, multiple people followed up including the local manager and ensured all our needs are met. The property is large with all the amenities matching the listing. The location is secluded yet minutes away from the town, beach, mountains, and other attractions like the botanical garden and state parks. The property was well-maintained. It has three stories with lots of stairs, so keep that in mind. Many internal doors don't lock, like the first-floor suite which seems to have been converted from a living room. Nevertheless, it's an overall great property with a hot tub, fire pit, and BBQ grill, among a full kitchen and laundry facilities. A couple of things to note: we had no phone service (T-Mobile, Verizon) and had to rely on WiFi and WhatsApp. The entire area has spotty cellular connection, so you may want to download Google Maps offline before visiting. Also, the last section of the street is a dirt road with numerous potholes. If you follow Google Maps navigation, you might end up at the wrong house, so follow the instructions provided by Vacasa. And finnally the entry code was ten dogits, yes 10, that was most annoying part, sometimes it took us 5 minutes to unlock the door. Enjoy your stay!
