House was not what we thought.
1. bedding in master was old and doubt it was washed.. looked 10 years old.
2. bugs all over the inside of the lanai, fly strips hanging from a disgusting ceiling fan that you can’t even use.
3. blinds all over the house are broken, missing and the bathroom downstairs you can see right in due to the blind being destroyed.
4. rugs throughout the upstairs are old and pulled up all over the house.
5. living room set is old and you sink right down to the bottom.
6. We shopped for food and when we went to eat later on that day there were bugs all over it. Had to throw it all away.
My wife was miserable because of the way this rental was. Didn’t bother trying to get a hold of The management because he takes days to get back to us prior to coming to Florida. So why bother. These people don’t care about the standards of their rental. Will never rent from them again.
Thanks Eric. Before we respond to this hatchet job, we have one question for anyone reading it. If this was you, and everything was as bad as Eric says, your wife so miserable, would you really stay in the home for a week without saying a word to anybody, even Homeaway? Surely you at least try to get things resolved? Any normal person on this planet would, but not Eric. Not one call, email, or communication of any kind. The fact that we believe his wife's misery had more to do with the company she was keeping that week is neither here nor there. If you love your family, and things are as horrendous as this, you do something about it. Period. Eric says we don’t care about the rental but Carousel has been on HA since 2014 attracting nothing but positive reviews. 36 in all. Obviously, we haven’t had anybody quite like this in the home before but we check every home before arrival, we look after our guests and we address every issue reported. He says we didn’t respond prior to his arrival. He wrote twice, both times through HA, and we answered both within hours. HA can vouch for that as they can see it. We don’t understand that comment but it is what it is. We just don't know why Eric left this review, unless of course he was right about the issues so let’s look at those. To suggest the bedding was not washed is pure idiocy. 15 years, 140,000 guests. We know our business and we are good at it. We check EVERY home before arrival, and ask that guests report cleaning issues within 24 hrs. Eric didn’t. The bugs he refers to outside were lovebugs. He does have a point there but lovebugs attack Florida twice a year. Google it if you like. There is literally nothing you can do about them. Everybody gets them, no exceptions. There are no issues with blinds in the home except where the odd slat has come loose from previous guests opening windows. Eric himself damaged 2. It happens. The carpets are not old and there is nothing wrong with them, nothing. The living room furniture is relatively new too and it is fine. Just as shown. He says that he shopped for food and then came back to find bugs all over it, and had to throw it away. Really? Why no call then? Why are there no bugs there now? Because it wasn’t true. The owner arrived the day Eric left and like the guest before, reported the home in great condition with no issues at all, bugs or otherwise. Had there been, and had we been told, we would have addressed all the above. Our response times are among the best in the business. We have no idea why Eric would post such a review without at least having the intelligence to report any of the problems while here, but you never know what you're going to get when a stranger arrives at your home. This has to be personal. We don’t know why.Either that or this guy lives in his own fantasy world. Eric has let himself down badly here and we would not want him anywhere near us again. We want mature and responsible guests who know how to conduct themselves. Eric doesn't, and he should be ashamed.
The area was great. Some minor updates required. The rug on pool deck was very dirty and stained. Needed to be replaced. Charcoal bbq was not practical. Some of the pool furniture very rusty. Ants and a couple of cockroaches were somewhat of an issue. However when we called they did send in the exterminators. More clarity on recycling as well. Recycling is done differently in many areas.

A Great Family Vacay
All seven of us thoroughly enjoyed this property and found it to be clean, fully functional and most enjoyable and suitable for a Family Vacation. We would certainly recommend it to others.

Nice place close to everything. House is nice, master bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the game room in the garage was a little run down. Wobbly air hockey table, broken fooseball table ect. Overall though, it was a lovely home. Relaxing, nice pool area, very homey feel to the house. Nice neighborhood, we would take walks in the evening and it was quiet and peaceful. The kids loved the pool and lanai area. Beautiful home.

Nice property and good features however it was worn looking with carpeting and patio furniture.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. We are not sure about the comment regarding the patio furniture as this was brand new at the end of last year and we can find nothing at all wrong with it.
If you could clarify that, we would appreciate it because we heard nothing from you when you were here. Your comments about the carpet have been passed on to the owner. Again, we are not sure which carpet you are referring to because this home is tiled throughout the entire ground floor, but if it is the carpet on the stairs, then it is obviously a high-traffic area though the carpet itself is more than acceptable to us.
