Wake up to a beautiful Hawaiian-like garden and artistic home in Phoenix. For over 30 years, we shared our wonderful home with our friends, fellow professionals, and, most importantly, our family. Now, we want to share it with you.
We have a fully stocked kitchen, very comfy sheets, 2 fireplaces, surround sound & custom lighting (even outdoors), toys, & games for all. Depending on your mood, there are lots of common areas, or you can relax in our secret garden. We promote inclusivity for all.
The space
This tranquil Phoenix home is a great retreat to unwind. Whether for a single individual or a whole family, each room and garden is created to be a tranquil space. There are many cozy spots for private conversations or public spaces for family gatherings. The house and yards were created to transport visitors on an artistic journey throughout the globe, stopping in places like Asia, Africa, Mexico, Italy, and the native Americans of the United States and Canada.
There are three exterior gardens. Including a large back yard, with fireplace, lots of comfy patio furniture, including a dining space. A private patio off the large master bedroom, and a front patio with dining table and rocking chairs, with private access to the third bedroom.
Main rooms can be closed off in order to give privacy to groups, or for just one person to find a place to relax, write a letter, or read a book. We have an extensive library for children and adults who love to read.
A few years ago I was in a wheelchair, therefore accessibility is important: there is a 5 inch step into the family room, and to the 3rd bedroom, plus a small step into the large shower (no tub). The floors are porcelain tile to reduce tripping hazards (plus easy to clean).
Lots of games (both indoors and out) for guests of all ages, plus puzzles, and playing cards. Covered parking for two vehicles, plus street parking for a third.
Our history: I lived in Phoenix/Tucson my entire life. Family and job kept me in Phoenix, but my real happy place is the forest. So, at the young age of 72 Jay (my husband and business partner) and I bought a home in Show Low, Arizona (literally like a cabin in the woods). The dilemma was – what to do with Our Phoenix house? It was not just a home, we had created a garden paradise in the middle of Phoenix. The house is full of arts from all over the world. Jay custom built much of the furniture (see picture of the Asian style bed he built), custom saguaro cabinet doors throughout the house and Spanish stucco interior. Plus, yards that took decades to turn into a paradise. So, we decided to share it with others. Hence, the idea of short term rental – scary I know. But we did it. Welcome to our Garden Paradise.
Other things to note
Phoenix may be hot in the summer, but our gardens help make you feel physically and mentally cooler. Ceiling fans throughout the house and exterior. The interior rooms are designed to encourage creativity and separate peaceful retreats. Large walk-in shower with a bench instead of a tub.
