About this property

Elegant Scottish Country Home On The Water

Relax or jump into the heart of Scotland from this historic and tranquil home. Resting in the centre of a 900 acre forest, Loch Na Bo Estate sits beside its own stunning 80 acre loch. Surrounded by extensive manicured private gardens and orbiting lochs, the estate offers an incredibly unique and private experience, perfect for family and group escapes. The world famous Malt Whisky Trail will be on your doorstep; an array of brilliant beaches and ancient woodland just beyond.

The estate can only be accessed by a winding private drive that cuts through the ancient woodland. Guests will be given a code to open the private gates before their arrival.

The house itself provides six brilliantly decorated bedrooms (five doubles and one with two singles) , seven bathrooms, a shower room, two fully equipped kitchens, a large dining room that seats 14, a grand drawing room with a working fireplace, a private bar, a living room/library with a large TV and fireplace and a fully equipped utility room with white goods. Please note that the red room hosts a double bed that can be split into two singles upon request.

The estate also provides its manicured private gardens to guests; equipped with a sun room, outdoor furniture, state of the art BBQ and its very own resident deer statue.

The gardens back directly past the house onto the loch itself, which lends itself to beautiful walkers routes that trail through the surrounding ancient woodland. Loch Na Bo is also notable for the array of brilliant wildlife that guests will no doubt rub shoulders with. From whooper swans to red squirrels to cheeky pine martins, the estate provides an incredibly unique opportunity to study the Scottish wild, all from the comfort of a cherished home.

Please note: pets are not welcome.

Guests are welcome to take advantage of the free parking spaces that surround the house grounds.
Other things to note

Elegant and historic, Loch Na Bo Estate offers guests a breathtaking home to both relax and explore the heart of Scotland. Landmarks and cities such as Loch Ness, Aberdeen and Inverness are all just an hour away by car. All the while the stunning Scottish countryside and its brilliant beaches will be waiting on your doorstep.

Loch Na Bo has been lovingly-owned by the same family for over a hundred years and has a rich and vibrant history. While this is a truly special and spectacular property, we want to make guests aware that is it a family home and comes with the usual quirks and period features you would expect of a house this age. If you are looking for somewhere perfectly located to the Spey, Scotland's top distilleries and some of the best walks in the area and have a large group to accommodate - this is the place for you.

Activities include fishing the loch for wild brown trout, golf (Maverston and Moray links courses a very short drive), riding at adjacent Cranloch Riding Centre, mountain biking, clays, archery, miles of woodland walks, hiking, wildlife watching and beaches. Local interests include nearby Gordon Castle, Johnstons of Elgin, a multitude of distilleries, racing at Elgin Kartway, and Cawdor Castle and Culloden not too far away.

We also offer all our guests a selection of incredible private experiences and services during their stay. Please enquire with George directly for information and our price list regarding fishing, outdoor activities, private chef experiences, Butler services, fridge stocking and more.
