About Glenaris and Barry Arvold
Barry and I have been married 43 years. We built our rustic home and raised our 4 great children here. Now, we have 9 grandchildren who are our pride and joy. We are a family that loves to travel and experience different cultures. We've been blessed to visit China, Peru, New Zealand, Mexico & more, but our favorite place on earth is HOME!
Glenaris and Barry Arvold purchased this Bungalow in 1982
Why Glenaris and Barry Arvold chose Farwell
We are 10 min. off of I-94, 120 miles from the Twin Cities and 100 miles from Fargo, ND. Alexandria is in the heart of lake country and as our area motto says, 'Easy to get to, hard to leave!'
What makes this Bungalow unique
Our peaceful little lake will offer hours of fun. We have boats of all kinds for you to use during your stay at no extra charge. The tipi in the woods is sure to enchant. Bird watching, deer sightings, wild turkey parades and the distant howel of a lone coyote or the hoot of an owl are not uncommon occurances. Our favorite outdoor sounds involve the laughter of our resident loons. We are near Andes Tower Hills ski resort, Kennsington Ruinstone Park, Golf courses, Antique and Boutique shopping in Alexandria and in season, you can pick your own organic strawberries less than a half mile away! Alexandria offers small town entertainment such as bike trails, bowling, mini golf, go carts, many restaurants, movie, summer stock and community theatre. You'll have check out Big Ole and the Runestone Museum and our Maritime Museum to catch up on some local history. Did you know that Alexandria is the birthplace of America?!

Nice place to have a girls weekend, we enjoyed the hot tub, and time away without any inconvenience
Thanks ladies! We enjoyed having you!
We enjoyed staying here it was nice and quiet!
Awesome winter outing - Great Place
The weather cooperated with lots of fluffy snow as our goal was snow shoeing and x-country skiing. We had a plan when we arrived, but Barry soon gave us new, great ideas for both. The apartment is cozy had has all creature comforts. The Hot Tub was so nice to have! We were in it twice a day even in -6 degree temps. Barry was home and offered us warm chocolate cookies, which we reluctently declined to preserve our waistlines. Barry went out early Sat am to create the snowshoe trail he told us about. We would not have travelled that far without his lead. Barry recommended Kensington Rune Stone Park to ski. The trails were groomed nicely, but the signage was not the best. Recommend you print an online map to plan the trails you want to take. Many other great sights and activities in the area. We will return.
Did I mention the Hot Tub was awesome!

Thanks for taking such good care of the bungalow. We would welcome you as guests ANYTIME!!
Cozy bungalow, lots of lovely extra touches.
We stayed in the bungalow for three nights and wished we had reserved for longer. The hosts were out of town, but everything was prepared and wonderful. Extra touches like the water filter in the fridge, pods for the Kerig, extra sheets and towels made us feel like honored guests. Even though it was below zero outside, it was cozy warm the whole time. Communication with the hosts was easy and quick and they were incredibly friendly. Highly recommended, and we would come stay again any time.
Thank you for the warm review. We so appreciate guests like you!

The bungalow was comfortable and quiet--just what we were looking for. The hot tub was perfect on the chilly and snowy evenings. The location is great--lots of nature, but yet close to a larger town.
If you are looking for a place to chill, this is it. The kitchen is well-stocked, but if you like to cook, you might want to bring some of your own creature comforts, like a sharp knife and a good frying pan.
We would definitely rent this space again!
Beautiful State Park and County park nearby.
Kensington Runestone Museum; Lakes Boat Museum - the nicest in the Midwest! Carlos Creek Winery - tastings, tours, music; Free music concerts weekly during summer. Summer-stock theater. NASCAR race track
