About Kei N
Hi. My name is Kei. I was born and raised in Kyoto. My family has lived here for more than 250 years. I renovated my houses and started B&B simply because it's very fantastic to meet new guests and to have conversations with them. As a genuine Kyotoite, it would be great if I can show you the core beauty of Kyoto.

A very nice, clean place, right in the shadow of a temple. They had just finished renovations, and everything was ready as promised! Wonderful and responsive hosts met our taxi, and handled the few early questions quickly. New appliances and appointments. A sweet little coffee cafe 2 blocks away (Coffee Club) was handy, and we found great bike rentals at the Starbucks/ Bookstore 6 blocks away near the Heian Shrine near Okazaki Park. We'd stay again!!

A superb property in a wonderful location! Our family throughly enjoyed this property and we wish we had booked longer. Kei is a wonderful host and personally met us at the property. The location is perfect and the home is well equipped. We will definitely book this beautiful home on our next visit to Kyoto.

I usually don't write reviews but I had to because this place is absolutely amazing, exceeding all our expectations. It is one of the rare occasions where it looks even better in person than in the pictures. It is a traditional Japanese home which has been completely and beautifully remodeled. There is a traditional Japanese tatami room which we loved. We are so glad we decided not to pay for an expensive Ryokan and stayed here instead because we still got the experience of sleeping in tatami room. The other room has a Western style bed and is also very lovely. There is a wonderful bathtub to soak in after a long day of seeing the temples. The place is very clean. The location is the best. Walking distance to temples and Gion district as well as subway and bus stop. Kei was a wonderful host. His wife and assistant met us the first day to show us the place. His wife gave treats to our children which was such a lovely gesture. We will definately stay here again and highly recommend it to our friends and family.

My husband and I brought my mother on this trip and we were so happy with this house in Kyoto. It was perfect for a traveling family. We cooked our own dinner one night and did our laundry. It was so quiet and easy! Thank you so much!

This area is well known for a flock of galleries. Shows and exhibitions are open all year around. You can hop into the galleries to see the work of young and contemporary artists.
Within a few steps, there's a convenience store. The Furukawa-cho shopping street is located 10 minutes walk away. This old local shopping street was formed more than 150 years ago and now often used for the shooting of TV series. Also, there are supermarkets and liquor shops you will have easy access to grocery shopping with during your stay.
If you take a more walk, you will get to the downtown area of Sanjo, Shijo, and Oike. It is the busiest area in Kyoto where various shops line up.
If you go down a bit south, you will step in Gion area. If you are lucky, you may encounter Maiko without her makeup during the day, or maybe with beautiful Kimono at night.
At the back of Uan, there's Awata Mountain. You can take a look of roofs of shrines and temples through the trees. One of the finest luxury hotels, Westin Miyako Hotel, is situated by the east side of Uan.
Uan is located in a quiet residential area where public transportation is convenient.
