This property is available for stays of 30 or longer. Shorter stays may be considered for an adjusted rate within 45 days of stay. Stays longer than 30 days receive a 10% discount.

A 1200 sq foot deluxe house located on a gated 17 acre property with a pond, horses, geese and dogs. Slate tiles throughout with an open floor plan. Wide screen TV, fully furnished kitchen and washer and dryer. The beamed ceilings, brick wall and a wood burning furnace add character to this charming place. Fenced back yard and delightful screen porch for your morning coffee. There is a queen sized bed down stairs and a day bed and a single bed upstairs (slightly steep stairs). The bath is located off of the main bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and will come stocked with food for an additional charge if requested. Yes, there is internet service and cable.

Peaceful and secluded

I normally stay in a hotel when I visit family. This time I decided to stay in a house and I’m glad I chose this one. It was very quiet and secluded, but close enough to restaurants and stores to make it convenient. The house was clean and comfortable. The host was very nice and responsive. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. I’ll stay here again when I come back.

A Peaceful Retreat

This is a self contained guest house that comes with all the amenities necessary for either an overnight visit or a more extended stay. The bathroom is spacious and has a walk-in shower that is handicapped compliant. The U-shaped kitchen overlooks a large common area. Check-in and Check-out was easy. My only regret is that we weren't there when all the camellias and azaleas were blooming.

My husband and I have live in the main house on the property since 1994. The guest house was built a couple of years later. We have two children. My son is an aerospace engineer at Tinker AFB in OKC. My daughter an interior design professional in Greenville, SC. I grew up in New Orleans and my husband in Lake Charles, LA. My husband sold his Internal Medicine practice in Hammond last year and now is working at the VA in Biloxi and Chief of the Primary Care Clinic. He is also a retired Lt Col from the Air National Guard. I am a retired CPA and more more recently, a retired home school mom. I manage 3 short term rental properties.

Why they chose this property

This property located in a peaceful setting with camellias blooming from late September through late April, followed by the azaleas. It would be an excellent place to stay while waiting for an Act of Sale to go through, on your way to an LSU Tiger football game, or as a temporary professor at SLU. We have taken in many surgery patients while they are recuperating. Everyone enjoys the peaceful setting and says that pictures don't do justice to the place. I am a hands on owner/operator and try to do whatever I can to make your stay perfect. I have many repeat guests who have become like extended family to me.

What makes this property unique

This unit has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. It is also good for handicap guests with bars in the bathroom and wide doorways. The in-house laundry is also very convenient. If you have a pet, it may also be possible for us to accommodate them for an extra charge. The pantry will be stocked upon your arrival with you favorites for cost plus 10%.
