About this property

If you’re looking to get away from it all, Sunset Dream is calling your name. This 2 bedroom/2 bath townhome is located in Barrier Dunes a gated, gulf front townhome community adjacent to the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. Barrier Dunes offers quiet surroundings with 2 community pools, one of them being gulf front, tennis courts, a playground and fishing ponds. This particular unit is located across from the playground and backs up to the entrance into the State Park. You are located a short walk from the beach, with easy access and no major roads to cross. Sunset Dream is very nicely furnished and well-stocked, including a Keurig, for your next vacation. The owner has thought of it all including a pack ‘n play if you’re bringing along an infant.

This unit is a great place to spend your winters or even for a monthly stay during the fall. If you’re planning to come monthly and would like to bring a small dog, please ask your reservationist about details.

Floor Plan: Ground Level-covered, paved parking and outdoor shower. 1st level-living room with sleeper sofa, flat screen TV, DVD player and nicely furnished balcony; dining area, kitchen, full bath with shower/tub combo and Bedroom 1 – 2 twin beds and small balcony. 2nd level-top floor, private master suite with king bed, TV, DVD player, balcony and master bath with walk-in closet, laundry room, double vanities, shower and separate garden tub.

Nice location for a getaway - with a caveat

Let me first say we enjoyed our stay. We wanted to be closer to nature and the beach, and we achieved that. Here's a few things we took note of. PROS nice, family oriented neighborhood Relatively close to the beach (10 min walk) Clean, fully stocked with linens and necessities 3 level and spacious layout, with decks for each bedroom Open areas outside and around the unit plenty of space for gathering and/or grilling CONS For some unknown reason, the "master bedroom" DOES NOT HAVE A DOOR. Please be aware of this because if privacy is something you expect, just know that the master bedroom suite is open, so privacy is not something that you will get. It's designed like this btw. Pests - it's understood being on an island like Cape San blas right next to the state park and wildlife reserve that pests are all around you. But, I still think seeing several pests daily means the property likely needs a little bit stronger form of pest control than what they're using. Dated - this property is very dated. The furniture, decorations, and electronics are also very dated. Not a modernized feel. Not a real issue, but something we took note of. I would suggest this property as I mentioned if you're traveling in a situation where you don't need any real privacy, and you want to be a little bit closer to the state park. If that fits your needs, it'll be right up your alley!

A nice and peaceful stay

We really enjoyed our condo. The community was so quiet and beautiful. Easy to get in and out. Our condo was very clean and easily accessible to everything. The beds were also comfortable. If you're a light sleeper, bring a fan. The frogs are a little loud at night depending on the time of year.

Clean but dated

The location is nice. Barrier Dunes has pools and a great beach. The condo itself is clean, but cluttered, and the furnishings are dated and stained, so that was a little disappointing. We’ve been in other condos at the complex and this one could use a face lift for the price.
