About this property

Ichetucknee River house

It’s river time! Are you ready for a quite peaceful time in nature? Our home sits directly on the lovely crystal clear Ichetucknee river (72 degrees all year long) with direct easy access into the water for swimming, tubing and kayaking. Our home has immediate neighbors on both sides. Therefore the 10:00 pm quite is required 7 nights a week. This river is spring fed, the width and depth changes all year long depending on rain fall to the north. The Itchetucknee flows into the Santa Fe which flows into the Suwannee, eventually into the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy the big beautiful yard playing volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, swing for two or a nap in the hammock. Please hold in mind there is a 10:00pm quite time as we have neighbors on both sides. Spend your evenings around the fire pit cooking over the open flame, roasting marshmallows or sharing stories. The front porch boasts a gas propane grill, a picnic table and a fantastic view of the yard, fire pit and river. Our home is designed to bring families and friends together to connect share meals and have fun.
Multiple chefs? No problem! This large open kitchen can handle it. It is well equipped with 2 ovens, 2 refrigerators, a microwave, dishwasher and plenty of granite counter top for creating delicious meals together. The family room is a wonderful gathering space with couches, a recliner, rolling chairs, a table and large screen TV for movies and sports.
Our home has 5 bedrooms and most with direct river view. There are 4 kings, 2 twins, There are 3.5 bathrooms. The shed stores the hammock, lawn games and tubes.

Our home sits in a quite neighborhood with permanent residences close by. The dirt roads are wonderful for walking and seeing occasional turkeys and deer. The neighborhood does have 3 secured community parks, one up river and two down for tubing. One park includes a small boat ramp. We treasure our community and our neighbor’s sleep, therefore do not permit loud parties in our home.

Gainesville is a 45 minute drive. There are many county, state and private parks nearby. The Itchetucknee River State park manages the first 3 miles of the river, the remaining 3+ miles are privately owned and part of 2 homeowner associations. A ‘rails to trails’ path is also close by for bicycling, Onewheeling and rollerblading. The nearby town of Alachua boasts a retirement home for horses you can visit as long as you bring plenty of carrots. High Springs has several restaurants, art and antiques. Many nearby springs are open to scuba divers, snorkelers, swimmers and tubers.

We've added outside cameras.

Come experience the River time magic for yourself in our comfortable home.

Wonderful
A gorgeous location! The property had everything we needed. The river was the best part. We spent so much time in the water. Three generations of family, some new to the river! Games, fun, floating, relaxing, and eating, all seated at the same table, loved by all!

River Fun
Another great long weekend at this river house. We tubed, swam, paddleboarded, fished, watched the wildlife, snorkeled, played volleyball, and enjoyed disconnecting from the bustle of work and school.

This home has been in our family since 1971, evolving as our family has grown. We renovated the home again in 2018. 4 generations have warm memories and stories to share.

Why they chose this property

It has a gorgeous view with direct easy access into the river. Tubers can tube in and out and access three additional secured neighborhood parks that includes a boat ramp. It is well maintained and renovated in 2018. The size comfortably holds a family of 10 or group of 10 friends ready to relax and reconnect. The kitchen is large enough to hold multiple chefs and plenty of seating for the feasts. The screened in and open air porches provide a choice of an outdoor experience depending on the weather.

What makes this property unique

It is quite, nestled in a peaceful neighborhood.
