Our home is calming, comfortable and peaceful. The views are outstanding, the location perfect, the steam shower relaxing and the local community welcoming. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, the whole family or business travelers.
A fully stocked kitchen and pantry with stunning 9 foot by 4 foot marble topped island unit will encourage you to cook up a storm and socialize whilst gazing over the wildflower meadow out front.
We have a centrally located A/C unit for those few crazy hot days we get each summer.
Lots of comfortable seating areas make relaxing with a book and a glass of wine an absolute pleasure, from the window seat to the shaded porch to the 6 seater couch, put your feet up and soak up the calm.
Overlooking the gorgeous Penobscot Bay, the house is a short walk to Belfast with fabulous independent stores, bars & restaurants, a legendary movie theatre and moments away from hiking spots, boating opportunities & parks. Enjoy freshly caught lobster just across the street. Day trips to Acadia National park & Bar Harbor are a must.

Great location tucked away in Belfast

Cute place with lots to do nearby, but still tucked away from the main streets. Nicely remodeled place. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful!

Lovely Stay

Alex and Lisa are supreme hosts! Their home has be carefully and thoughtfully restored with all the modern amenities you could need, but with the Maine Farmhouse heart true to the original home. It was a peaceful, calm stay and easy to get anywhere, but tucked away off Route 1. The space is relaxing with a beautiful view of the wildflower field and the water. I highly recommend both the home and the hosts!

A bucolic stay on the Maine coast

Impeccably maintained gorgeous house and property. Walkable to the historic coastal town of Belfast yet far enough to feel rural. Spectacular views!!

Originally from England, Alex and I moved to Belfast Maine after driving all the way around the world in a campervan looking for the perfect place to live. It took us 5 years to drive around the globe but only 2 visits to choose Belfast as our next home.
Both avid cooks, eaters and wine drinkers we live in our kitchen which we designed ourselves, much like the rest of our home, and love to shop locally for great ingredients to feed to our friends and family. We grow a small amount of veg in our raised beds but are still novices in this area after life on the road for so long. I run a small cooking blog and we still love to travel extensively, hence us sharing our amazing home with you.

Why they chose this property

We fell instantly in love with the sunlight in this house. Originally built in 1906 the south facing property had been renovated in the 80's and its suspended ceilings, humongous stone chimney and gingerbread cottage style kitchen didn't deter us one bit. We could feel the potential in it the second we set foot inside and could feel the love that had always been present in the home so much so that we remain great friends with the family that owned it.
We completely modernized the house adding radiant heat, replacing the roof, horsehair plaster, electrics, insulation and windows. We have installed high-end bathrooms, furnishings and light-fittings that we adore and we absolutely love to live in this stunning, sunlit home. We think you will love it too.

What makes this property unique

The views from the house are simply breathtaking and impossibly calming. The light as it changes throughout the day is mesmerizing and as the sun sets the warm glow illuminates the original wood floors and absolutely restores your soul.
The porch is a great spot to enjoy the peace and tranquility and to watch the birds in the huge pine trees that made us name the home, The Spears. The biggest tree out front is a perfect climber and the one that you can see from the kitchen window has a tire swing, lovingly broken in by our nephews.
The wildflower meadow offers a constant supply of cut fresh flowers and a home for the bees which keep our veg plot healthy. If you are here when a glut of veg are available please help yourselves in exchange for doing a spot of watering during your stay.
