About this property

The Coach House at Wildwood (Pet Friendly)

Located on a forested 40 acre estate with walking trails, a large pond, access to the private beach a five minute walk through the forest trails or Point Robinson lighthouse and park a two minute drive away, propane BBQ & picnic area. Beautifully decorated guest house, fully-appointed kitchen, outdoor table, claw foot tub/shower in the bathroom, bedroom with a cozy queen bed, a sofa sleeper, and large closet. Pets are welcome with an additional $40 per stay (not per day) cleaning fee. This is a non-smoking property.

The Coach House has a large ground floor living space with private entrance, attached to the east side of a large barn. Amenities include a full kitchen (including all utensils, dishes, pots/pans, napkins, paper towels, coffee, sugar, oil, vinegar, salt/pepper); a full bath (towels, tp, soap); a bedroom with a queen bed, room darkening shades with a walk-in closet; a queen sofa sleeper in the main living area; a wood stove with firewood provided, a private outdoor picnic table and propane barbecue. In the summer there are lounge chairs under the wisteria arbor. It is a peaceful and restorative get-away a 7 minute walk to Pt. Robinson Lighthouse Park or through woodland trails to the private beach access to the south shore of Maury. There is a nice long hike along beach from Pt. Robinson to the Maury Island Marine Park when the tides allow. Deer, owls, woodpeckers and songbirds frequent the forest outside your door. There are horses in the pasture about 75 feet away.

Bring waterproof shoes or rubber boots in fall, spring or winter if you want to hike about during the rainy season. It is also nice to bring a cozy pair of slippers along with you to keep your toes warm. We live nearby and are available to help with whatever you might need during your stay. There is information about things to see and do on Vashon in the House Manual and there are alternate contact numbers there also should you need anything during your visit and not be able to reach Lisa for some reason. The Vashon Chamber of Commerce, Vashon Events and Vashon Allied Arts websites have listings of wineries, galleries, shows/events, movie theater listings, etc.

There is a separate studio apartment, Wildwood Studio, that sleeps two on the opposite side of the large barn. If you are interested in renting that space also, please let us know. The Loft & Beach, which sleeps up to 4, is a two minute walk across the property. Bluff House is next to the Loft - it sleeps 6 and overlooks Puget Sound. In the warmer months there is a wonderful beach area with a portable toilet, shower, sink, kitchenette, hammocks and a barbecue in the summer that rents with the Loft and/or Bluff House. There are several cottages, all private and separate from the other. The property sleeps 19 in various houses/cottages, and vashonfieldandpond can be rented for events for up to 500 guests, as well. Please inquire...
,
We come up to the barn to feed the horses in the mornings again at night (sometimes after dark), so don't be alarmed if you see us walk by the greenhouse or parking area.

Pets need to be LEASHED AT ALL TIMES on the property for the sake of ducks, horses, chickens, deer, cats, resident dog, etc. and may not be left unattended in the Coach House at any time. If you bring a pet, please leave the $40 cash pet cleaning fee before you leave.

Please contact Lisa if you have any questions about the property prior to booking. Hope to see you soon!

Rest, relaxation and a bit of magic
The Coach House is a place for deep rest for the body, mind and soul. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye and senses, nothing is missed here, allowing one to just enter into a stay of relaxation. I was welcomed by the father of the property who shared with me how he grew up on it as long as he was old. The fine details of this property so carefully managed and taken care of by this multi- generational family shows. It shows love around every corner. I came to restore, get grounded and rest and even though I only experienced one night… it was just what I needed. I will return.

Overall a nice stay on Vashon Island
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. We felt that the homeowner provided clear directions and information about local attractions. We were disappointed with the bathroom as the sink did not drain and the shower/tub was small and did not have room for toiletries. This stay was overpriced in our opinion. The 4 star rating is objective and based on the location's amenities.
