Respecting the Lake, our Neighbors, and the Laws:
We're so thrilled to have you as our guests and hope you create wonderful memories here. To ensure a safe and enjoyable stay for everyone, we've put together a few guidelines:
Outdoor Enjoyment & Safety:
Parking with Care:
* Please park on the designated driveway areas only. Parking on the grass or near the septic mound/pipes can damage the lawn and our vital septic system.
* The garage is reserved for owner storage and is not available for guest parking at any time.
Waterfront Safety:
* For your safety, please use the stairs only to access the beach. The rip-rap rocks can be unstable.
* Children must be supervised at all times near the water and on the dock.
* Please use all outdoor equipment at your own risk.
Respecting the Environment:
* No fireworks of any kind are permitted.
* Smoking is allowed at least 20 feet away from all doors, exits, and windows. Please dispose of all debris safely.
* Please keep off of the in ground sprinkler heads. We have them set to operate at night where there's the least impact to guests.
Grilling & Fire Pit Guidelines:
* If you use the gas grill, please clean it after each use, empty the drip container, and cover it.
Please keep the grill away from the home's siding.
* The fire pit is for your enjoyment, but please ensure it's fully extinguished after use and cover it. Do not throw any trash or debris into the fire pit outside of wood and kindling.
Noise & Neighborly Consideration:
* Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily. Please be mindful of noise levels to respect our neighbors.
* Please respect the privacy of our neighbors, many of whom call this home, and do not disturb them.
Waste Management:
* Fish cleaning must be done in the designated area, and waste disposed of properly.
* Please secure all trash in closed trash cans to prevent attracting wildlife.
* Trash cans go to the curb every Wednesday evening for pickup on Thursday morning.
* All trash goes in the trash cans.
* Kindly break down boxes and sort trash for recycling in bags provided.
General Outdoor Care:
* Please ensure the hose is turned off after use.
* Turn off exterior lights when not in use.
* Please securely put away all outdoor equipment each day.
* No glass outside.
Propane Safety:
* Please do not play on or near the propane tank.
Security:
* Cameras are located outside on the property for your safety and the security of the home.
Events:
* To maintain a peaceful environment, please refrain from hosting loud parties or major events with loud noise.
Respecting the Community:
*Quiet hours and neighborly considerations ensure a pleasant experience for everyone in the area.
Environmental Responsibility:
*Guidelines on waste management and fire safety help protect the local environment.
House Rules:
* No cleaning fish or game inside the house. This helps maintain cleanliness and prevents unwanted odors.
* No smoking or tobacco use of any kind inside the house. This keeps the air fresh and our home free of smoke residue.
* No pets. This ensures the home remains allergy-friendly for all guests.
* Use only liquid detergent in the washing machine. Pods and powders can cause buildup and damage.
* Use only liquid detergent in the dishwasher. This prevents clogging and keeps the machine running efficiently.
* No flushable wipes of any kind. Our septic system is sensitive, and these will cause blockages.
* Do not flush feminine products. They can cause plumbing issues and damage the septic system.
* The kitchen sink does not have a garbage disposal. Please dispose of food scraps properly—no grease, rice, potato peels, or other debris down the drain.
* The fireplace gets very hot—please supervise children. Safety first! The surface can be dangerous when in use.
* Do not use the vacuum roller on the laminate floors. This prevents damage to the flooring.
* Wipe any water off the laminate floors immediately. This prevents warping and damage.
* Keep the washing machine door and detergent drawer open after use. This prevents odors and mildew buildup.
* If you bring your own laundry supplies, please use unscented products. This keeps the home comfortable for guests with sensitivities.
* Empty the dryer lint trap after each use. This helps the dryer work efficiently and reduces fire risk.
Why These Guidelines Matter:
* Your Safety: Many of these rules are in place to protect you and your loved ones, especially around water and fire.
* Protecting the Home: Rules regarding parking, waste disposal, and equipment use help preserve the condition of our home and its systems so that you can enjoy it in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Kris Erickson

This property is part of our family story. The land has been passed down over the last few generations, and was given to us with the intent to keep it in the family. Seeing that it is a South facing lot on one of New York Mills' finest fishing lakes, we decided (as a family) to build a home that not only we can enjoy, but also others.
What makes this property unique
Our property is a secluded luxury property outside of Alexandria and Detroit Lakes. We built this property for its secluded setting, while providing our family a space to enjoy as our children and their families continue to grow.
