About Wahab Estate
The Wahab Estate, also known as the Samuel Johnson House, dates back to the early 1800's. William and Eliza Wahab were the original owners and first occupants, contributing to the island's heritage. The stories of Captain Thomas Wahab and his adventures at sea add an intriguing layer to this property's narrative.
Originally constructed in 1886, the Wahab Family Estate underwent an exquisite transformation, renovation, and expansion in 2007. Resting atop a continuous masonry foundation, this historic jewel features dual master ensuites, a formal living room, multiple seating rooms, a pool table game room, and a spacious sunroom. And let's not forget the pièce de résistance—a rooftop patio offering mesmerizing views of Silver Lake. For the very first time, this esteemed property is open to the public. Nestled in the heart of Ocracoke, it transcends the label of a mere vacation abode—it's where enduring memories are forged!
