A wonderful place to close out summer
The house is spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of storage space. The outdoor shower is a very convenient feature, especially when returning from a beach trip. We found the deck and patio relaxing and enjoyed making use of the grill for many of our seadfood meals.
We wound up using both the air-conditioning and heating systems, and they both responded quickly and flawlessly to all adjustments. With the length of our stay, the many cleaning tools made it very easy to keep the place tidy. We also personally appreciated the fully-stocked laundry room, since we found ourselves seemingly always needing to do a load of laundry.
The neighborhood is quiet and private, with no through traffic on Homer Road and lots of vegetation marking off property borders and private spaces. To us, the best feature of the location is the fact that it’s just steps away (in multiple directions) from various entrances to the Cold Brook Preserve, with its miles of well-maintained and flat hiking trails. Also it’s a fairly easy walk from the house to Brax Landing, the ferry terminal, Ember Coal-Fired Pizza and Sundae School Ice Cream.
The hosts Paul and Susan were very responsive, which was very impressive because during much of our visit they were away on vacation.
We're already looking forward to returning next year!
