My husband and I purchased the 3 acres overlooking Banks Lake in 2015. It checked all the boxes for what we like to do. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the west side. A perfect lake for waterskiing and fishing. Surrounding areas for hiking, exploring, and relaxing with a glass of wine while enjoying beautiful sunsets over the red rock cliffs of the Coulee Basin. We added power, sewer, water and two little cabins so we could "glamp" here. Friends and family wanted to join us, and the property was just too pretty for a couple more little cabins, so in 2021 we finished building the house. It is such a fantastic spot, we want to share it with others. Come see what Banks Lake has to offer.

What makes this property unique

We are a five minute walk to the lake and an essentially private cove for swimming, fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking or just floating on your air mattress. You can bring your boat in and throw out the anchor. This is public property so we never leave our boat unattended over night, but for the day would be fine. The water in summer is 72 degrees. Banks lake is 30 miles long and fed by the Columbia River so it is always fresh and clean. The surrounding cliffs of the Coulee are amazing. We spent time in Ireland and the Cliffs of Mohr aren't much different, just a bit bigger. The property itself boasts an acre of grass great for games. Speakers inside the house and on the front and back porch enable you to listen to your favorite music everywhere. Heaters on the back porch are great for those chilly mornings, so you can enjoy your morning coffee in comfort. The kitchen is fully appointed with a 6 burner gas stove, stainless appliances, a wine fridge and all the kitchen tools you would need for a quick sandwich to a gourmet dinner. Three acres! Enough space to park and turn around your boat and trailer. Enough space for the kids to run. Enough space to be loud and not bother anyone. Because you are away from town there is no light pollution!! The stars at night are incredible!
The small town of Coulee City is a 5 minute drive and has an adequate grocery store, a dive bar with amazing pub burgers, pizza, a full bar and beer on tap. The boat launch is in town with plenty of parking and four launch slots.
A 15 minute drive takes you to Sun Lakes State Park - with putt putt golf, a full golf course, soft serve ice cream and swimming.
A 20 minute drive and you're at Steamboat Rock State Park
A 30 minute drive you can visit Grand Coulee Dam
A 60 minute drive Lake Chelan
Most likely you will be content right at Smith Cove and Banks Lake.
