About Fay Tangermann
We fell in love with the Yukon over 35 years ago and have made it our home since. We are still pretty busy working on projects but are enjoying this beautiful area next to the Hotsprings, spending a lot of time outdoors with our friendly dog Nya. We're looking forward to making your stay comfortable and memorable!
Fay Tangermann purchased this House in 2016
Why Fay Tangermann chose Whitehorse
The property is part of the Takhini Hotsprings resort lands. They are located in the traditional territory of the Ta'an Kwach'an First Nation. The area is popular with locals and travellers alike. The tranquility away from hustle and bustle drew us here and we love our solitary walks in the hills where deer and elk herds roam, and birds find refuge on their annual migrations. The opportunities for hiking and biking are many, on and beyond the resort trails.
What makes this House unique
The house is new; it was built by us in 2015. My husband Gunter paid a lot of attention to detail and it shows - our guests enjoy that. "Everything you need" is in this warm and comfy little house. The magic of the northern lights will enchant you on cold winter nights. In summer, sit in the sun on the deck, watch and listen to the birds.... rest, relax and reconnect! Light a camp fire or stroll down to the hot pools for a soak. Walk over to the charming little Bean North - Cafe in the Woods for a treat, and organic, free-trade coffee roasted on-site. The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is a 20-minute walk can experience moose, muskoxen, mountain goats, Wood Bison, Mule Deer, caribou, elk, lynx, arctic foxes and different types of northern sheep.

Absolutely perfect in every way!!
A beautiful home, in the perfect location, that is meticulously clean, extremely well equipped, with the nicest, most wonderful hosts! We loved it so much, we returned for a second time, and can’t wait until we return again. It is in a quiet peaceful location, away from the city, but close enough that it is easy to get back-and-forth. Takhini Hot Springs is a 5 min walk, and the Wildlife Preserve is just a few mins drive down the road. This is the absolute perfect place to explore Whitehorse and area from! The hosts are a wealth of knowledge in regards to anything you might want to know about Whitehorse and the Yukon. We rate the property and the hosts 200 out of 5 in every category!
Dear Dorothy and Allen, it was an absolute delight to host you again. We’re so glad you enjoyed your time here and are looking forward to your next visit!
Amazing secluded cabin
Excellent cabin, very clean. A nice distance from town with easy access to the Hot Springs. Would definitely stay there again. Had almost everything you could need.
A lovely cabin in the woods.
We totally enjoyed our stay here. The accommodations were as stated in the listing; directions to the property were very clear; the house was immaculate and well furnished. We especially appreciated having some basic provisions because we cooked many of our meals (the real garlic was a special treat for us). We would love to come back but it is a tad far for us but we will tell our friends. Thank you!
Delightful cosy chalet
Fay and Gunter welcomed us on arrival and Fay showed us how everything worked in the chalet. It was a delight to stay in such a warm and cosy home set in the woods. Everything we needed was there. The photos on HomeAway don't really do it justice. It really did exceed our expectations! We would just love to stay again sometime in the future.
We were delighted to host Karen and Dave. They are very nice people, excellent guests, left the house super clean and took very good care of it. They are welcome back any time and we highly recommend them to other hosts.
Cute, quaint and perfect getaway!
This cabin is so adorable and nestled away from the city. About 25 mins drive away from downtown but feels way closer than it is. It has all you need... shower soaps, hot water, kitchen amenities and basic ingredients, slippers, snowshoes. Fay and Gunter are very welcoming, hospitable and incredibly friendly. Would definitely stay again. Hilltop hike is great for sunset/sunrise, hotsprings walking distance.
Thank you so very much for the wonderful stay.
Thank you for your kind review, Erica. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for being such fantastic guests..we appreciated your leaving the house clean and in such good shape. We hope to welcome you again some day! We highly recommend you to other hosts.
The perfect little honeymoon getaway
My husband and I had an amazing stay and would recommend it to anyone. If we ever come back up to the Yukon for any reason this would be the perfect place to stay again. We loved how relaxed the environment is and that there are still lots of things to do and places to explore around the area. And to top that all off, Fay and Gunter are wonderful people, very kind and considerate. Overall made for a perfect getaway.
Thank you, Kirsten.
We much anjoyed hosting you and Adam and would love to welcome you back in the future.
