The Casal São João Cottages is a typical Madeiran stone house located in the west of the Madeira Island in Fajã da Ovelha - Calheta, about 58 km from the airport of Santa Cruz and 42 km from the city of Funchal. This construction is dated from the year of 1930 and composed by 6 independent apartments. The studio number 103 is equipped with a kitchenette, double bedroom and bathroom. It's available in the shared social area one jacuzzi with natural water, gym, solarium, barbecue. In a perfect and quiet place with excellent exposure across the sea ideal for yoga, bird watching and astronomy.

It is recommended to use car so you can explore the various attractions, not only in the locality as well as other area attractions. Nature turism and hiking ("Levadas") are one of the strengths of this region and Fajã da Ovelha is part of many hiking routes. Less than 2 km you will find mini-market or restaurant. The nearest beach is in Paul do Mar, about 8 km away. In the center of Calheta, about 15 km you will find all the facilities and services offered by supermarkets, pharmacys, banks, medical center, traditional shops, restaurants, hairdressers, sandy beach and promenade.

Logement pas du tout agréable, à déconseiller !

Le seul bon point du logement est l'emplacement très calme et la vue magnifique. Malheureusement cela ne compense pas le reste et il est difficile de profiter d'un séjour dans ces conditions. La chambre: le plafond est globalement bas et très bas dans la chambre, et il y a une très forte odeur d'humidité, il est impossible d'ouvrir les placards à cause de cela et nous avons du dormir la fenêtre ouverte toutes les nuits. La cuisine: l'évier et la gazinière sont placés sous le conduit de cheminée qui n'est plus utilisé mais toujours ouvert: il y a beaucoup de résidus qui tombent à cet endroit: nous n'avons donc pas cuisiner. + Il manquait des choses de bases: briquet, éponge propre. Pour finir: la salle de bain dispose d'une baignoire sans pommeau de douche: il faut donc utiliser un seau ou prendre un bain (dans un environnement pas propre) pour se laver! Le réservoir d'eau des toilettes est tout petit nous avons dû utiliser un seau d'eau pour tirer la chasse en complément. Côté propreté on a retrouvé cafard par terre, vu des vers piégés dans un cadre, des araignées plus ou moins grosses... C'est la somme de toutes ces choses qui fait que l'on s'est senti très mal à l'aise dans ce logement !
