Nightmare cabins

I’d rented this cabin for Labor Day weekend,3 nights, drove 20 hours and pulling a 23 ‘ boat from NJ and ended up staying at a holiday inn. The person in charge never provide me with cabin number or lock code after several calls and txt got not luck I was at the place for 3 hours waiting for him to give me a clue but nothing had wait till 11pm The guy called me at 6:48 am saying a bunch of lies this person is so irresponsible. He ended up giving a full refund after I open a claim with VRBO

Extremely disappointing

I don’t know I’ll have enough space to list the numerous things that went awry on this mini vaca that was intended to be a celebration of many milestones- we made it work however. We had stayed here before (different owner who was wonderful) so obviously we were blown away with how it all went down. *not given the cabin we reserved *cabin clearly wasn’t cleaned at all and definitely not COVID cleaned- no exaggeration and I have tons of pics to prove it. *after searching for owner to complain we were offered a service to come in (we had already cleaned everything ourselves) and assured we’d receive $ back (never happened) *ladder to loft was absolutely unsafe especially for someone older and with a bad back (again wasn’t the cabin we booked) *took 3 days to get the wifi code (missed Skype call on thanksgiving with my grandkids, a business mtg and couldn’t do banking transactions) and even then we got the code from neighbor not owner. * no lights in the loft - finally got someone to come look at it and the lightbulb blew-glass all over the whole place including inside our luggage. *no clear markings of where you can go, no paths to pool, no fire pit as was advertised and no one ever available to talk to. Walked in circles daily trying to get help. And when the owner was around -he’s on a golf cart clearly intoxicated. Did not feel comfortable asking him anything- when they came to look at the light they came into the cabin smoking (non smoking unit) We had come with a completely prepared Thanksgiving feast and nowhere else to go or I would never have stayed. It was a sad situation but we made the best of it - this isn’t even the complete list - and I’m still not sure if they are the owners or property managers but I can safely say they lost us as returning customers. Highly recommend they get some new management and have better representation feel bad for the other owners who may lose future renters because of these unprofessional people...

A remarkable Lakeside Retreat

I am so grateful to have found this lakeside retreat which is only a fraction of a drive from my hectic, routine lifestyle. The property is well maintained, located right on the lake with nothing but nature staring back. It truly felt like a quick getaway to the Caribbean island. The cabin comes with everything you need! The property manager, Jerry, was quite attentive to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this place. P.S. have breakfast at the Landing Strip at Okeechobee Airport-thank me later!
