Fantastic place, gorgeous location, lovely hosts
What a fantastic place. The cottage is gorgeous with the french charm we were looking for. It had everything we needed and more for our small family. The property owners were so lovely bringing us fruit for our daughter that they had grown and so welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this property in a heart beat. It’s gorgeous, perfectly placed to visit nearby cities and towns, some of our favourites were Bordeaux, St Jean D’Angely and Brantôme.
Fantastic find. Don’t hesitate just book this fabulous cottage
Thanks again Lynn and Ken, we will be back!
Such a lovely cottage with lots of character! Very peaceful and great location.
Private garden is fab and the local markets and the velorail are a must!
Me, my partner and 6 month old really enjoyed our stay here 😊
A wonderful week of peace and quiet
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chez Beaugis, a home from home.
A beautiful cottage with all the comforts set in rural France.
The garden was private and enclosed which helped us to contain our two energetic children. We all enjoyed the above ground pool and eating out in the garden every night.
We really couldn't find a fault and Lynn and Ken were welcoming and the perfect owners offering advice regarding things to do.
We will be looking to revisit in the future.
Over 40 years of staying in similar gites this is promoted to position number 1. (the Best). Everything about the gite was excellent - 2 bathrooms/showers/toilets, a nice garden with a very clean small pool (above the ground), very clean with very helpful and friendly hosts and would thoroughly recommend this gite to all. An excellent welcome pack is provided which is most useful when arriving Saturday afternoon - before we could get to the shops the following day.
Enjoyable and relaxing stay.
This property is attractive and very well equipped. The hosts could not be more helpful, yet do not encroach on your privacy. In particular, we loved the outside areas, where we could relax in the shade during a heatwave, or enjoy the warmth of the sun at other times. The proximity of Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure was an added bonus. In all, a lovely spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 week stay here.
Really lovely gite with loads of space and a brilliant back garden and pool. The gite was spotless and everthing that you needed for your stay was provided. The owners made us feel very welcome and provided a welcome basket as well which was a nice touch. Would definately recommend this gite if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.
Chez Beaugis is just 20 minutes from the N10. A small hamlet in a quite part of the Charente countryside. Chasseneuil is a small market town 3kms away with all amenities, also within easy reach of Angoulême which is a walled town steeped in history. It has a large covered market, you will also find an excellent range of shops and restaurants. Just 10 minutes away is La Rochefourcauld with it's beautiful XLLc Château where the whole family can dress up. There is also good range of shops and eateries and a very large Supermarket. Further afield you will find good sandy beaches less than 2 hours away, Children and adults will love Futurscope about 75 minutes, for a fun filled day with a fantastic firework display.
Other Activities: Wine Tasting, Velo Rail, Ice skating, Lakes with beaches & water sports
Golf: There is a very good Golf course at nearby Montbron. One in Angouleme and one also at St Junien.
