Delightful and a wonderful place to relax
The cottage is very compact which is fine when the weather is good but may be a little cramped if inside for any length of time. No room for somewhere to sit comfortably and definitely only one person at a time in the tiny kitchen. We were fortunate enough to have hot sunshine every day we were there which meant we could thoroughly enjoy the outside seating area(s) which offered direct sunshine or lovely shaded areas; particularly good for dining outside. Despite its being very compact, the cottage is very comfortable and the way it has been decorated and furnished is wonderful.
Walk a few metres down the road and you reach one of the access points to a range of paths which meander through the beautiful countryside. Some are quite steep, but well worth the effort as the views of the mountain and surrounding countryside are gorgeous! Check out the route which takes you up and over to the dam.
The property owner, Monique, is lovely! Very friendly and such a warm welcome. The little welcome gifts of wine and ‘sweets’ were much appreciated by us. One thing which would have been helpful, is clearer directions to the house.
Wonderful little cabin!
We had a wonderful stay in the first week of August in this adorable stone cabin. Monique was incredibly kind, good at communicating, and made our stay lovely. The cabin is just the right size for two people who want some quality time together, and is appointed with everything you need to cook, do laundry, hang out. There are also lovely outdoor sitting spots. We were there in early August, when it gets very hot during the day, but if we closed the shutters up tight during the day it kept it cool inside. We had some problems with mosquitos in the house (no screens!) but other than that we loved staying here! Highly recommended vacation spot to one of the most beautiful parts of the world! We hope to come back!
7 km away from Aix, close to the Tholonet village in the Beaurecueil commune in a favoured and quiet area 200 m from the first path that allows to access the numerous walks and hikes in the Saint Victoire Massif. Accessible by bus. The bus takes you to the beginning of the path...4 km away from the closest supermarket and a few high quality shops. 5 min away from the driveway that leads to the Cassis calanques and to the sea toward the East as well as the Marseille beaches, museums and restaurants.
