About this property

My spacious peaceful backhouse with fireplace is overlooking a large garden with fruit trees and roses, a lovely country setting by the beach. Enjoy meals in the patio with barbecue, walk or cycle to the beach, a 10 minutes walk away. Treat yourself to seafood or go fishing at the Redondo Beach Pier. Shop for fresh produce at the farmers market, right by the beach (you might see some dolphins and pelicans!). Grocery stores are half a mile away. Go hiking on the beach or along the hiking trails of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Riviera Village, a 15-minute walk away, will charm you with its array of boutiques, restaurants, a lovely area for an evening stroll.

So comfortable and a wonderful host

This is one of the best places that I have stayed in my travels. First the host was kind, responsive, and helpful. The space was as shown on the website--so comfortable and well-equipped. The outdoor patio was surrounded by a beautiful garden. You could spend time outside or just sit at the kitchen table and enjoy through the window. The location was excellent-about a 10 minute walk to Redondo Beach. It was a treat to walk down to the beach every day at sunset to see the beauty. I highly recommend this property. It really couldn't be better.

Affordable beach apartment

Marie-France is a great host and kind person. The unit was spacious enough that my partner and I could each work remotely. Having the outdoor patio was a huge plus!

A private get away inside a busy world!

Marie-France and her gardens are truly an oasis! The gas BBQ and laundry facilities were very appreciated. The bed is very comfortable. and the apartment is just right for 1-3 persons. Some functional updates would enhance a long stay. I bought a work surface for my remote work, a little blender and a few other items. The Beach is an easy 20 minute walk through the neighborhood and shopping/restaurants in between. Parking at Marie-France's was free and available. The Hostess is charming! Go for it!

Good location with thoughtful host

My wife and I spent 30 days here and really enjoyed it. Easy walk to the beach with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Internet was fast and never went offline. Highly recommend

Why they chose this property

When we moved to California, we first drove the whole West Coast. I fell in love with the oleanders growing down the median along the highway from Santa Barbara on. We chose Redondo Beach because it had a bit of a small-town feel while being near the big city with all its amenities. Being at the foot the Palos Verdes Peninsula, its hikes, horseback riding, whale watching, etc. was a big part in our choice.

What makes this property unique

Here, you can enjoy the beach and yet relax in a green, peaceful setting, away from the crowds, taking your morning coffee on the patio. You barely need a car! But you can also go to Universal Studios, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, discover downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, go to Venice Beach, the Long Beach Aquarium, the Getty Center, visit the Queen Mary. All in a safe, quiet environment.
