Quiet Cabin With Large Decks And Beautiful Views.
Why Dan Crowson chose Chatfield
This is my Grandparents farm, passed from them to my wonderful parents who in turn, allowed me to purchase it. This land is filled with great family memories.

The cabin was very clean. Kitchen is a little small.
We went in October with the weather getting colder the furnace had a hard time keeping up. We had to run the water so it didn't freeze which was very loud at night. We would go again in the spring of summer for sure.
A Place of Peace & Quiet
Large Windows on 3 sides of 1 room cabin. Stunning view
over pastoral valley with cows grazing, trout stream, Bald Eagles & Man fishing! Cabin clean, comfortable bed, large table, comfortable furniture. Easy drive to Lanesboro & Commonweal Theater. Quiet, peaceful, can unplug. The pluses definitely out weighed the taxidermy on the walls :). Yes, I would recommend & stay here again!
We loved this place!
We loved the coziness of the cabin, the view of the trout stream, and the cows. Fun place to stay!
Quiet and peaceful place to restore the spirit.
We loved the quiet rural location of the cabin. It was very peaceful to sit on the deck and watch Trout Creek flow by. We saw bald eagles and deer. We went biking on the Root River Trail during the day. We actually enjoyed not having T.V. or internet.
Rustic, clean & comfy bed!!
Great location for us wanting to fish! Had most of what is needed when flying into a location. Would liked to have an extra hour to check out plus some kitchen towels but over all I would stay again when in the area....
We'll be back!
My Mom and I went for a two night stay. An area we hadn't been before. LOVED it! The privacy, beauty, and simplicity of this cabin and its location, exceeded our expectations. This doesn't take away from our 5 star review, but do want to mention a couple areas that could be improved...Someone else mentioned the musty smell in another review. It was definitely present. Thankfully, the time we were there, it didn't get above 80, so we had the windows open a lot. Which brings me to the next item, some windows had broken cranks and couldn't be opened, and others needed a screen or the screen had holes in it. But we still got plenty open. We had a campfire one night and it was so perfect. The lightning bugs, cricket & frog sounds, occasional Moo from the cows...just great. We didn't mind not having a tv or wifi at all. In fact, that made this trip even better. We played music and games at night, when we weren't out by the fire. Dan (Owner), responded immediately to every question we had leading up to the trip. I don't know when it will be, but already looking forward to getting back there.
The Root River Bike Trail is in Lanesboro, which is 7 miles away, or there is also a Root River Bike Trailhead in Fountain, 5 miles away.
No town lights, make for wonderful Star Gazing, with spectacular views on clear nights.
Our campfire ring in the front yard, always has good dry wood available, for roasting Marshmallows and hotdogs.
