Gourmet farm retreat
A farm stay oasis with fruit trees all around and separate fields for chickens, goats and sheep. Darryl served us full breakfasts each morning made from food grown on their property; fresh squeezed orange juice, lovely scrambled eggs with herb mix, buttered toast, papaya bowls filled with things like bananas, peaches and coconut. We found other fruits on our outdoor table just like opening Christmas stockings but for every day of our stay. There were special touches like cozy bath robes, a jet tub for relaxing after our many volcano park hikes and Alexa to play our favourite music. There was a koi fishpond outside our window and lovely birdsong all around. It was a secure location with aloha. They have 3 lovely dogs on the property that are not allowed in the rental unit space but it is ideal for those used to being around pets. We recommend trips to The Hawaiian Tropical garden Kilauea Iki trail hike (90 min) and signing up for the Self Guided e bike tour of the park with Bikevolcano.com Thursday 60+ discount at Foodland if that fits. Lots of fun outdoor adventures around. Thanks Leslea and Darryl.

Very tranquil and great breakfast!
This was an amazing place to stay! Darryl and Leslea were very accommodating and their place is phenomenal...we felt like it was home away from home with the farm animals and orchards! The beds were very comfortable and the jacuzzi bath tub was blissful! Kitchen was very well stocked and between it and the grill it met all of our needs. The icing on the cake was the breakfast made for each morning! Super delicious and almost more than we could eat but because it was SO good we did not leave any behind! :) The only very minor hiccup we had was finding the driveway...it does not look like a driveway but learned that when we came upon the 35 mph speed sign with an upside down orange triangle, the driveway was right after that and it is lined with I believe coconut trees...once we discovered that it made the driveway very easy to find even after dark!

Outstanding property and hosts
I absolutely loved staying here! The hosts Daryl and Leslea are wonderful, kind and attentive hosts. The grounds are lovely, peaceful, and safe and the Villa is well designed and user friendly. The jacuzzi tub was awsome as was the rain shower. I never worried about my safety while there and enjoyed the attentive and welcoming Aloha spirit of the hosts. I highly recommend this location if you seek peace and quiet and/or a romantic getaway.

Nice Location near National Park
We really enjoyed our stay at this very nice cabin. Breakfast was served with fresh eggs and fruits from the farm. We were lucky to have tasted the very sweet white pineapple. Definitely recommend this place if you are visiting the Hilo side of the island or exploring the National Parks.

The property is just lush and clean. The neighbors....just cows....

Why they chose this property

You will be surprised at the spacious, luxury, private accommodations for such a reasonable cost. The location is quite immediate to Akaka Falls, Hilo and the volcano. We loved the spa tub, overhead shower and double sinks after a long day of hiking and playing. Two full size beds, full closets, a partial kitchen and dining area made our stay very easy and comfortable. All organic produce grown on the property, teas, coffee, fresh massive papaya and homemade blueberry scones were an added delight.

What makes this property unique

The location is ideal for seeing everything on the east side of the island, including volcano national park, lava viewing sites, black sand beach, and the waterfalls. In summary, we would highly recommend staying here; you are unlikely to find similar accommodations in the area, especially at this price.
