About Mike & Diane Prohoroff
We are residents of the Big Island living in Waimea. There is something magical about The Big Island and when you spend some time in Puako you will understand. We have many friends who have homes at Puako and have enjoyed spending time there over the years. We purchased Hale Aloha for a family retreat to be shared with our children, grandchildren and guests. The community retains its laid-back friendly atmosphere. Puako is a short drive to the world class amenities and resorts of the Kohala Coast, but offers a unique Hawaiian vacation. Our goal is to keep our rates reasonable and encourage our guests to return on a regular basis. Owner has a Hawaii State Real Estate license. Excise #W01915314-01, TA#009-610-4448-01

Why Mike & Diane Prohoroff chose Puako
The Pacific Ocean is 30 feet from the lanai. There is not a hotel room on the BIg Island with the same feeling. Sunsets are stunning. If you want to know what it would be like to live on the ocean in Hawaii, Hale Aloha is your place.

Best spot ever!
My husband and I stayed here last week and had the best time. The location could not be more ideal and the property had everything we needed. We enjoyed walking right out into the tide pools, exploring nearby beaches and the peacefulness. It was nice to have access to bikes, snorkel gear, and beach chairs. We will certainly be back!
Always great experience
This was our 3rd or 4th stay. We love this place. Everything was clean and in good order on arrival and during stay. Each time there are one or two upgrades which makes it a little nicer.
Turtles & sunsets
Third trip to the Big Island, first time in Puako. Loved this bungalow! Perfect combination of quirky charm and comfort: well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom...and the view! Didn't need a stove, as we used the grill on the lanai. Loved watching the turtles and sunsets. Hope to return soon...
Our time at Puako was perfect although too brief. We watched the tide come in and then we watched the tide go out! What more could one ask?
Unlike any other!
Just spent our sixth year staying at Mike and Diane's wonderful place on Puako Beach. Such a unique spot--right on the beach, open to the sights and sounds of the ocean day and night. Quiet, private and unlike any other place we've ever visited. All in all, wonderful!
A nice and secluded little getaway cottage on the ocean.
This is a wonderful choice if you are looking for a cozy spot for one or two people. The kitchen is quite basic but functional and there is a grill on the outdoor deck. It is a great deal for the price. The one thing that could be worked on is the landscaping as the trees on the ocean side have grown enough to limit the view.
This Property is Located on Puako Beach Drive Which Intersects the Bike Portion of the Kona Ironman Race Course Held Each October. This Property is Near Quality Yoga and Pilates Classes and Private Instruction. Puako is an Excellent Location for Morning and Evening Fitness Walks/Runs.
