Comfortable and quiet
This was a nice place to stay, and Paul the host was very friendly. We were a bit disappointed that there was no self-catering or running water in the unit, although bottled water was supplied. We were aware because of the unit description that we couldn’t cook for ourselves, but it still took the gloss off our stay. Paul did offer a continental breakfast, but the price was a bit steep. The shower and bathroom facility under the unit was lovely but having to walk through the rain in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, again, left a bit to be desired. Summing up, the unit was nice but not really for us.
Thank you for review. We did make contact with you prior to your booking and you were advised the studio unit is non self catering and has own private garden atrium bathroom below. We have made exceptions in the past and allowed self catering, and provided cutlery and crockery but really feel that guests are offered a continental breakfast plus fruits and yogurts at $17 and wood fored pizzas at night for $25, a very reasomable price, should either support the small local tourism
and restaurants and/ or spoil themselves.
The studio unit is upmarket accommodation, and we have personally visited most b and b and self contained units in Kaiteriteri, and our beach front property is by far one of the best. It is one out of three closest beach properties in Kaiteriteri,(highly sort after accommodation) and by far the best location and accommodation property in the area, worthy of 4 or 5 stars. Rates for upmarket accommodations are twice the price. We did explain the self contained unit was booked, and you were privileged to even get the booking in the studio unit.
Personally the inconvenience of non self catering or having to visit the garden atrium bathroom at night for two or three nights should not be an issue, but an unique Eco experience, pristine, extremely comfortable and clean.
We try to provide guests an Eco friendly experience in a completely Natural environment.
Our European guests simply love the wonderful view, setting and decoy, even the modern new outside bathroom. Running water is just outside the door, so no damp smells are in the sleeping area. The unit is really ideal for overseas visitors wishing to explore the Abel Tasman National Park and wine and dine, and simply sit back and relax on the deck or in the overhanging lounge area and enjoy the peace, quiet and view in the late evening, watching the sunset over the sea till 9pm. Then wake up to a ready served breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurts, croussants, jams, honey and fresh squeezed orange juice with filter coffee and breakfast tea. Then explore the Abel Tasman National Park, following our tour operator guide expertise and advice of a pre booked trip, we made without added stress for the guests, utilising the free booking service we offer.
We hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in beautiful New Zealand.
