About this property

Cozy Family Cottage on Forty Miles of Lakes

This clean and cozy cottage offers enjoyment for every season of the year. Get away from the frantic pace of the city to enjoy nature at its finest in solitude or with family and friends.

This Winter, enjoy a range of outdoor activities including snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing. Venture outside with a warm drink on a cold, clear night to marvel at the countless stars in the sky and, if you’re lucky, the shimmering beauty of the Northern Lights. Curl up in the warm, comfortable indoors with a good book, or enjoy a game with friends and family as the snow falls outside.

The large lake system and the beautifully landscaped cottage lot, comprising mature birches, maples, cedars and perennial flower gardens, attract a wide range of birds in the Spring. The Almaguin Highlands, neighbour to the nearby Algonquin Highlands, is home to the American Woodcock, Saw-whet Owl, Hooded Merganser, Ring-Necked Duck, Hummingbird and the iconic Common Loon. Take the cottage binoculars on an outing and see how many birds you are able to identify.

Summer provides a wide range of water-based activities. Kids will enjoy many hours of splashing around in the shallow, sandy beach area or jumping from the end of the dock and the nearby raft. Take the canoe or kayaks for a leisurely paddle around the quiet bay or a more energetic trip along the chain of lakes that includes Ahmic, Beaver, Cecebe and Crawford. These lakes are known for their boating and fishing, with a healthy population of pickerel (walleye), bass and pike. Motorized boat rentals are available nearby if you are interested in touring the system of lakes, water skiing, tubing or fishing.

Autumn is a great time of year to hike the many local trails and view the changing colours in the forests of aspen, birch, oak, maple, and larch. The lakes are particularly quiet at this time of year when families have returned to the city for work and school. Take in the peaceful surroundings with a quiet paddle around beautiful Beaver Lake.

Year round, enjoy morning coffee or tea on the large deck as you watch the sun rise over tranquil Fraser Bay. Toast marshmallows over a fire. Play a game of horseshoes in the pit. Relax by the water or on the dock in one of the Muskoka chairs. Or snooze in the hammock by the water. Choose one of the many local trails to hike or bike. Visit nearby Magnetawan and Burk's Falls for artisanal shopping or sightseeing.

No matter what time of year you like best or which activities you prefer, you will make lifelong memories at Three Birches. We take pride in the cleanliness and comfort of our cottage. Just a few easy steps from parking to the back door. Leave your coat and shoes in the foyer, and enter the well-equipped, bright eat-in kitchen looking out onto Beaver Lake. Complete with fridge, chest freezer (in the foyer), stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, you have all the conveniences of home in your cozy getaway. The drinking water comes from a 300' deep well and is good to drink.

From the kitchen, enter the carpeted dining area and living room furnished with dining table, couch, easy chairs, and a TV connected to satellite service . There is a DVD library with selections for all ages.

From the set of glass sliding doors, exit the living room onto the cottage-length deck to enjoy the view, converse with guests or prepare a meal on the propane BBQ.

The living room connects to a short hallway where you will find two bedrooms, each with a set of comfortable bunk beds, and a small bathroom between them. As well, the living room connects to the spacious main bedroom at the far end of the cottage. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed, a pull-out couch, a linen closet, and an ensuite bathroom with combination bathtub/shower and laundry facilities. The best feature of the main bedroom is the set of glass sliding doors leading onto the deck. Enjoy the view of the lake from your bed, or enjoy the sun rise sitting on the deck with your morning coffee.

Welcome to the Three Birches cottage! Enjoy your stay and we hope to see you again soon.

Great Spot Exactly as Advertised
Al is a great communicator, the property was exactly as advertised, and the location was perfect. The various trails and access to the lake made this spot a great find and the little additions by the hosts made the getaway fantastic.

Awesome stay
I cannot say enough good things about this trip. This cottage is so welcoming, we instantly felt at home. It has everything you need and more. We were here in December, the lake froze over for hours of skating and hockey which the kids loved. Al is an amazing host. Replies to all questions quickly, always available, never made us feel like we were a burden with so many questions. In fact, last year we booked this cottage as well and cancelled because of lockdowns and Al was with us every step of the way until our refund was complete. His customer service is exceptional. This year, he answered all our questions again. I have personally never experienced this kind of service when renting other properties. A real 10 star experience on all levels of this trip for our family. Thanks Al!!

Amazing in all respects
Can't imagine a better experience! The property is beautiful and spacious with a fantastic waterfront, and there are so many personal touches inside and out that make it feel like a home away from home. Al is a terrific host; every piece of information you could want is provided, and then some. We'd come back here in a heartbeat.
