This clean and cozy cottage offers enjoyment for every season of the year. Get away from the frantic pace of the city to enjoy nature at its finest in solitude or with family and friends.
This Winter, enjoy a range of outdoor activities including snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing. Venture outside with a warm drink on a cold, clear night to marvel at the countless stars in the sky and, if you’re lucky, the shimmering beauty of the Northern Lights. Curl up in the warm, comfortable indoors with a good book, or enjoy a game with friends and family as the snow falls outside.
The large lake system and the beautifully landscaped cottage lot, comprising mature birches, maples, cedars and perennial flower gardens, attract a wide range of birds in the Spring. The Almaguin Highlands, neighbour to the nearby Algonquin Highlands, is home to the American Woodcock, Saw-whet Owl, Hooded Merganser, Ring-Necked Duck, Hummingbird and the iconic Common Loon. Take the cottage binoculars on an outing and see how many birds you are able to identify.
Summer provides a wide range of water-based activities. Kids will enjoy many hours of splashing around in the shallow, sandy beach area or jumping from the end of the dock and the nearby raft. Take the canoe or kayaks for a leisurely paddle around the quiet bay or a more energetic trip along the chain of lakes that includes Ahmic, Beaver, Cecebe and Crawford. These lakes are known for their boating and fishing, with a healthy population of pickerel (walleye), bass and pike. Motorized boat rentals are available nearby if you are interested in touring the system of lakes, water skiing, tubing or fishing.
Autumn is a great time of year to hike the many local trails and view the changing colours in the forests of aspen, birch, oak, maple, and larch. The lakes are particularly quiet at this time of year when families have returned to the city for work and school. Take in the peaceful surroundings with a quiet paddle around beautiful Beaver Lake.
Year round, enjoy morning coffee or tea on the large deck as you watch the sun rise over tranquil Fraser Bay. Toast marshmallows over a fire. Play a game of horseshoes in the pit. Relax by the water or on the dock in one of the Muskoka chairs. Or snooze in the hammock by the water. Choose one of the many local trails to hike or bike. Visit nearby Magnetawan and Burk's Falls for artisanal shopping or sightseeing.
