Studio Condo In Sapphire Village
About Michael Harper
Fun loving family that has found our second home in St. Thomas. We enjoy too many hobbies that range from playing with the our own and the neighborhood kids, to scuba diving, snorkeling, to biking on and off road, Rock climbing kayaking and lots of other adventures that we seem to stumble into as we enjoy our days.
Michael Harper purchased this Condo in 2015
Why Michael Harper chose St. Thomas
We enjoy traveling to lots of places in the Caribbean and seem to find ourselves returning time and again to St Thomas. We fell in love with the beautiful Virgin Islands. Sapphire beach offers the best snorkeling and beach combo in our opinion. The location being so close to Red Hook make it ideal. When we found this property we were pleased and felt we couldn't pass it up and would like to make it available to others to enjoy as much as we plan to.
What makes this Condo unique
Excellent views, amazing snorkeling, close to the beach while able to enjoy the sea breezes since the building is located up on the hill. The amenities are enough to keep you happy while still making you want to venture out and see what else the island has to offer.

A slice of heaven
This is a lovely studio condominium in a safe low key area just outside Red Hook. We walked to Red Hook each day for drinks n eats . The ferry to St John leaves from Ref Hook. This condo is in Saphirre beach steps from the water. The pool areas are quaint & there’s a bar w casual food a few steps away from this rental . The beach is a A few hundred feet down the hill where’s there an other bar and rentals for kayaks and water sports . The marina is in the same spot if u want to take a day out for fishing r snorkeling. Great stay !!
Great 1 night stay
Beautiful property on Sapphire Beach. Close to Red Hook ferry, restaurants, etc. Easy to get taxis. Will stay here again. Thank you.
Adventures in Paradise
Wonderful 3 week stay at the Captain and the Mermaid. Beautiful unit and great host.
Great place and location
Our stay included some well appreciated items for spending time on the beach such as two beach towels, coolers, drink coozies and pool noodles (also some snorkeling stuff but we brought our own). Short walk to the beach where they had a New Years Eve party at the beach bar. Would return!
Me and my sister will differently come back 2 this condo May of 2020
It was such a peaceful place 2 stay that what I like. Everyone was friendly. The pool was relaxing.
Excellent short stay one of many more to come
Great property can’t wait to come back
If you're considering renting a car, I recommend a jeep or SUV but a car will do though some of the hills will cause you to drag a bumper but all the rental cars are already damaged there so its no worry. Cars are cheaper too. Though there are a few places that four wheel drive can help you get to if you have an adventurous side like me. :) Okay next comes food. Island time pub is a must do. It's a mile away from Sapphire in Red hook and it's amazing! The buffalo chicken pizza rocks! Then there's Hook Line and Sinker near Charlotte Amalie which also has nice scenery and the foods yummy too. Tickles is also noteworthy. Brooks is a local restaurant by that doesn't look fancy and is all outside covered seating but it's absolutely worth eating there! The chicken is delicious! They are a cash only restaurant though so heads up! Iggie's is also a good spot, good drinks, nice beach and good atmosphere and food.
Chartering the boat is a great idea! We just did that through Pirate Bay Charters and had a blast! Their boats are located on site in the Marina. If you feel up to it and haven't done it you can't go wrong with the Baths on Virgin Gorda, but it is a pretty good boat ride so that's your call.
Go to Magens bay, it's beautiful! On your way there you will pass a place on your right the called Famous Delite. It's a cash only place too I think but stop and get yourself a milkshake with alcohol in it they are delicious. Brooks is close to Magens Bay as well so it makes a good lunch spot then grab a milkshake on your way to Magens for an afternoon swim.
Sapphire has some of the best snorkeling on the island from shore. The best is way way out on the left side by the point but if that's too far of a swim snorkel around the rocks on your right and its still pretty good. Neltjeberg Bay is a small local not crowded swimming spot that can be a little tricky to find but is worth it. Careful to not get stuck if you are driving a car.
Check with the rental agency to see if you can bring your car on the car ferry over to St. John. The beaches there are all good! Some are rocky though so bring shoes with you in the car. Mountain Top is a good place to see lots of the island and good tourist shopping.
Look into the passenger Ferries that leave out of Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie the can provide quick easy access to St. Croix, and the islands of the British Virgin Islands if you remembered your passport.
