The village has a resort feel in summer, it's great surf, great swimming, tennis courts, awesome golf course, and a welcoming golf club make it feel like a resort.
The local shop/cafe also has takeaways and with the outdoor seating makes it the social center. In the summer and at Easter there is a coffee caravan near the surf club, which is gorgeous!
Riversdale Beach is a 4 km long sandy beach.
It's a fantastic place for easy walks, surfing and swimming.
The northern end is patrolled by Surf Lifegaurds and the estuary provides a safe place for younger children to enjoy the water.
Visitors are welcome to play a game at the golf course or enjoy a meal at the restaurant, which has excellent views of the ocean.
At low tide, a large area of rock is exposed at both ends, ideal for fishing and snorkeling. An exposed reef 2 kms out to sea is a well known diving site for crayfish and paua and a good place to catch groper.
