Lovely charm and perfect location

There are a few varying reviews about this apartment and for us, we loved it. The description is of a 19th century home and it is that, it’s in an old building that retains so many lovely things: the large beam floors, high ceilings, moulding etc. the floor creaks, but my 1931 home has wood floors and they creak too. The elevator is small, like you’d expect in an old building, but worked great. We felt like we were in a cool old hotel sitting in the large and comfy living room. The kitchen is modern and well appointed. Bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. Check in was easy and smooth, safe walkable neighborhood with parking, groceries and amenities close by. We’d be very happy to stay here again, hopefully for longer, because Vienna is lovely and this was a comfy home base for my family.

Misleading pictures

Overall a large disappointment. The pictures are misleading, as the property is fairly dilapidated (as would be expected for such an old building). The "air conditioning" offered was a few fans and one mini split HVAC unit that barely kept one room cold. For this reason, we had to book a hotel for our infants when we arrived bc the apartment couldn't be kept cool enough for them. The elevator broke during our stay, and we had repeated issues with the locks, which caused us to be locked out for several hours. Highly recommend against this rental.

Huge potential needs major renovations

POSITIVES: - Communication with Property Manager was pleasant, timely, & very helpful. 2 in our group landed in the morning & they enabled check-in. One shower didn't drain. They came to fix it promptly. Check in was smooth & easy. Thank you! - Comfortable Beds. All had very nice mattresses. - Location was a further walk into the innere stadt than we expected, but neighborhood was nice, safe, & close to The Belvedere & their beautiful grounds. There was a grocery store nearby. The train station was farther than anticipated because Belvedere Gardens do not open until 10am, so you have to walk way around them to get to the station on the other side. Plan your time accordingly. - The living room and three of the bedrooms were very large & spacious. The kitchen was a decent size & was well equipped for our group of 7. NEGATIVES: - The floors squeaked SO bad with every step you took. We've stayed in old buildings in Europe many times. None have had such an annoying floor. - The place was very clean but just worn down & dark. The bathrooms need remodel . . . one shower door was held together with duct tape, the other barely fit a person & had areas of the shower floor that were worn down to the metal. - The large area rugs over the wood floors in the living area & bedrooms were made of a synthetic material that hurt your feet to walk on without shoes. - The mural on the wall looks fine in pics. In person it was tacky, overbearing, & out of place in Vienna.
