About Mark Sinclair
We are bookabach hosts and users who enjoy living in a stunning part of the world, and love travelling to see what else both New Zealand and the world has to offer us! We've been using booking platforms like this (including AirBNB, etc) around the world since soon after they first began, and it has worked really well for us. We have used them for work (for Mark and colleagues), for personal use, and for holidays with our family. We are frequent bookabach, homeaway and AirBNB hosts. We live in Wanaka, New Zealand along with our two kids. We are both kiwis (from Dunedin and Wanaka), but have spent 10 years living elsewhere in NZ, and 18 years living in the UK. Our work has taken us all over the world. Mark says: I love language, literature, technology and good conversation. I'm an avid snow skiier, love being out on the water (lake, not sea), scuba diving, I'm a private pilot (fixed wing, not current) and I'm fluent in German. Most importantly, I have a positive outlook and a good sense of humour.

Why Mark Sinclair chose Albert Town
This is our home, and it's a fantastic house to live in. We love it. We AirBNB the back of the house when we are there, and we consistently get 5 star reviews. Many have said it's the best AirBNB they've stayed in.
What makes this House unique
Comfortably away from the "madness" of downtown Wanaka, but only 4 mins from the centre of town by car. On the living side of the house we look out over a reserve, farmland and mountains. Bliss.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Wanaka doesn't really have public transport to speak of. Your best option is to have a car for your stay. It takes approx. 4 minutes to drive from our house to Wanaka township. Taxis are listed above. Or if you are looking for something quieter, you can be at the Albert Town Pub, the Albert Town Fish & Chip Restaurant, or Double Black Cafe with a 2 minute drive or 10-15 minute stroll.
You can hire bikes to get around, with masses of mountain biking options to choose from. There are over 750km of mountain biking tracks around Wanaka, covering all ages and abilities. We would recommend Outside Sports in town.
Located across the road from us, the Hikuwai Track is made up of two tracks which join onto each other to make about a 7 - 8 km circuit depending on where you finish the track. They are generally done in a clockwise direction and the easiest place to find it is either just above the car park at the up-river end of the Outlet Track (down Gunn Road from our house) or off Aubrey Road approx 1km east of Outlet Road. An intermediate single track that is not particularly technical but with some wooden structures over fences and uphill pinches.
We are a 5 minute bike ride from the start of Deans Bank. A fantastic one-way cross-country mountain bike loop track. The flowing single track weaves its way through typical Otago landscape featuring matagouri and tussock with great views of the Clutha River and Southern Alps. A selection of banks, berms and tight corners appeal to intermediate mountain bikers, with easier riding options around rocks and other technical obstacles. All of the climbs are well-constructed switchbacks with nice flowing downhill sections.
Walk down Gunn Road and in 3 minutes you are at the edge of the Clutha River. Walk left and you join a track which takes you all the way into Wanaka (along the edge of the Clutha to the Outlet - where Lake Wanaka spills gently into the Clutha) and around Penrith to Eely point and into Roys Bay where you'll find Wanaka. Walk right and within five minutes you are at the Albert Town Bridge - with walking tracks beyond.
