Great stay in Brooklyn!
My husband and I stayed 3 nights in Adam's apartment over Thanksgiving weekend. It had plenty of space for us and was more than adequate for our simple needs. We chose the location to be relatively close to our daughter in Kensington, but were pleasantly surprised by the Sunset Park neighborhood - lots of cool new places and old industrial buildings nearby, not to mention Greenwood cemetery. The apartment itself is quiet and felt safe. The furnishings are not top quality, but perfectly serviceable. We didn't meet Adam but he was very responsive to my messages, including a slight hiccup accessing the WiFi network. He provided a useful notebook of nearby food & drink recommendations. We also found a free parking spot directly in front of the building, which was a huge bonus!
A great place. The property manager was in contact prior to the visit and responded quickly to questions. The stairway to the upstairs facility is pretty narrow but other than that, the apartment was comfortable . The neighborhood was quiet and family friendly.
Owner was very easy to work with. Only 5 blocks to subway and walk was easy. Very close to Industry City where there are good food options.
Adam and his wife, Amita were very helpful when we needed/looking for something and the place was perfect size for 3 of us and an extra friend on the last night. I would highly recommend staying here if you happen to be staying in Brooklyn. Thank you very much, Adam and Amita!
A convenient base to explore New York from
Adam was a very helpful host (who lives below the apartment), keen to advise and help where possible. The subway links to Manhatten were conveniently close (a few blocks to each of the closest two stations) and the area felt safe. The internal layout of the rooms means there is little privacy for the master bedroom. The kitchen is basic but was adequate for our family group of 5 (3 teenagers + 2 parents), likewise the bathroom. A group of 6 might struggle for space. Air conditioning was good; local shops adequate.
Ideal for up to 4 guests
We had a good time staying here, but for the 6 of us, it was really too small. 5 is do-able, 6 not so much!
Some points to consider:
Adam was great. Very responsive when we needed things.
But - this apartment has no smoke detectors or CO detectors!! yikes.
It's a good location for getting onto the subway (either 25th st or 36th st). IndustryCity is just a couple of blocks away and is an awesome place for finding all kinds of food and other shopping options. It's an up-and-coming place of repurposed industrial buildings. Overall, a positive stay - thanks.
