About this property

Oak Framed Barn with Wonderful Views

Keepers in Huntington village is at the heart of the Marches. There are scattered farms, an historic church of St. Thomas a Becket and a pub built on a site dating back to 13th century. It is a wonderful place to enjoy peace and beautiful scenery. Walkers, riders and cyclist have the open hills and Offa's Dyke, the Black mountains and Hay Bluff to explore close by. Kington golf club welcomes visitors to enjoy the highest 18 hole course in England. Canoeing can take you from Glasbury to the historic town of Hay on Wye. There are many beautiful gardens open to the public including Hergest Croft Gardens, particularly lovely in Spring. Many market towns can easily be visited, Ludlow for it's farmers market, Leominster for antiques, Hay on Wye well known for the annual literary festival and Brecon in the Beacons. Hereford Cathedral has the Mappa Mundi on display. Local pubs offer good menus and log fires. Keepers provides peace, quiet and yet there is plenty of interest near by.

Perfect Hideaway
Peaceful getaway with spectacular views. Perfect location to explore the area. Spacious accommodation with lots of homely touches and spotlessly clean. Home owners were delightful and very happy to help with any enquiries but equally respectful of our privacy. Would definitely re visit.

Remote, relaxing stay in a beautiful area
We booked this remote spot to avoid fireworks for our dogs on 5th November and we weren't disappointed- didn't hear a sound. Lovely location, comfy barn with great views, never ending beautiful birds visiting the balcony to use the nut feeder and everything you could need for a short stay. Marilyn and Peter are warm, friendly hosts and even shared some farm eggs (which were very tasty!). Lots of lovely places to visit locally too. Would definitely recommend.

About the host

Hosted by Marilyn Kelly

Host profile image
Peter and Marilyn Kelly enjoy running their small holding of 20 acres and looking after the small flock of Welsh Mountain Badger Face sheep. Lambing in late March is always challenging but fun and we are sure we have the prettiest lambs in Herefordshire. We are happy for guests to bring their dog and enjoy the walk through the woodland, where no sheep graze, so dogs can run free. We attract birds by hanging feeders around the accommodation, the woodpeckers and nuthatches being of particular interest. Our land is of special interest for wild flora and we try to improve the habitat for the wild animals. This year we intend to create a scape and hope to encourage curlews to nest here.
We are always pleased to meet guests and share our peaceful and wonderful environment..
