3 stars approved from the French Tourist Board. The house is set back from the lane by a long driveway. Upstairs there are three double bedrooms, which can be changed to bedrooms with two single beds, and a bathroom. On the ground floor there is the living/dining area with a kitchen corner equipped with a 5 flame hob, microwave, etc. There is also another WC. The guest garden with fruit trees has hedges all round and the entrance is secured with a gate. The art gallery and atelier of 70 sqm is situated towards the rear of the property. Behind the house is a enclosed meadow/paddock of 4 acres

NUL !!!

C'était notre première expérience avec Abritel et il en ressort une grosse déception et beaucoup de frustration. L'ensemble de la maison était sale poussière sur les meubles, sur la vaisselle, dans le réfrigérateur et sur le canapé, saletés sur le sol, toile d'araignée et araignées en nombre, il y avait même un reste de saucisson sur la planche à découper et des tâches sur la nappe de la table, bref le seul avantage était les serviettes et les draps pour les lits, soit dit en passant les lits sont très inconfortables. Les toilettes n'étaient pas mieux, aussi sales que le reste. Il était annoncé qu'il y avait un barbecue, je le cherche toujours et pour ce qui est de la machine à laver elle était à disposition mais dans les appartements du propriétaire ce qui n'est pas très pratique. Pas d'état des lieu à l'arrivée, ça peut se comprendre vu l'état, nous n'avons vu le propriétaire que la veille de notre départ pour savoir à quelle heure nous partions et le jour de notre départ juste au revoir sans nous demander si nous avions passé un bon séjour, pour finir je dirais tout simplement que cette location ne devrait pas exister et qu'il faut surtout passer son chemin et aller ailleurs.

Lovely holiday in the French countryside

We had a lovely holiday here with our five year old daughter. It is a lovely quiet setting in the countryside, so we had a lot of much needed rest, but also ideally placed to explore Mont St Michel and surrounding coast, towns, villages and countryside. There is a small amusement park Ange Michel not too far away which our daughter loved. The property is basically but comfortably and well furnished. There is no oven in the kitchen but a gas hob and microwave for cooking. Everything is provided. Plenty of hot water. Dieter is an amazing host and we felt so well cared for yet also independent to do what we wanted. Dieter showed us his art gallery and surrounding grounds which were really interesting. We arrived as strangers but left as friends and we really hope we can have the opportunity to come again.

Stein-Landhaus mit einer Kunstgalerie

Selten hatten wir so einen lockeren Vermieter wie Dieter Kneipp ! Kommunikation verlief problemlos, sowohl vorher als während unseres Aufenthalts. Dieter gab uns mehrmals goldenen Tips für mögliche Ausflüge in der Gegend. Das ist auch direkt der große Pluspunkt an dem Ferienhaus : von hieraus sind alle touristischen Attraktionen in der Gegend problemlos zu erreichen. Selbstverständlich Mont St Michel, aber auch Dinan, St Malo, Dol de Bretagne, aber auch die Strände in La Manche (wir waren in Jullouville, großes Sandstrand, einfach Parkplatz gefunden, Top-Tag !) Fazit : gerne wieder !!!

I'm now an artist living here since 2004. Before I've lived in Engalnd for 16 years and before that in Germany in and near Nuremberg. I studied paedagogic and worked with children and youngsters for many years.
I still like to encourage not only young people but adults too, to discover their creative side.

Why they chose this property

As we are on the "cusp" of Normandie and Brittany, we are well within easy access of Rennes, Caen, Dinnard, St Malo etc etc. The fact that we are in the bay of Mont Saint Michel means that the air is clean and pure. The light here for artists' is renowned and the sunsets are truly wonderful.
Although we are in the countryside we are within one mile of main roads to and from St Malo/Avranches.
Cancale, the famous mussle and oyster growing area is not far from here.

What makes this property unique

The benifits of living here are tranquility, clean fresh air and being able to grow all your own vegetables, to pick fresh fruit from the numerous apple, cherry and plum trees. The property is conveniently situated within easy access to Pontorson and Avranches as the N175 is literally down the end of a little lane.
You can relax in the orchard or take part in art-workshops.
