Our home is approximate 2200sf and has 4 bedrooms including 3 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (all on second floor) and a first floor bedroom (not en-suite) and a first floor powder bathroom. It is 3/4 miles to Oak Bluffs Center (15 minute walk), 1.2 miles to Inkwell Beach, 1.5 miles to Farm Neck.

Detailed Description:
First Floor
The main floor includes a spacious, fully equipped, kitchen with a large island, stainless steel appliances and Quartz counters. The kitchen is open to the dining room, which has a large table with seating for 10 (plus 4 additional stools at the kitchen island). Off the kitchen is a large screened-in porch as well as a patio with a gas grill. The screened porch has two ceiling fans for added comfort and 4 porch rockers. There is a picnic table in the back yard that comfortably seats 10.

The living room is off of the dining room and has a 65" Smart TV with large sectional couch. There is a bedroom with a Queen bed off the living room and a first floor powder room.

Second Floor
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom, as well as a washer and dryer and linen closet. The 1st Primary bedroom has a Queen bed and a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and claw foot bathtub. The bedroom also features a private balcony with seating for two. The second primary bedroom has a Queen bed and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The third bedroom has 3 Twin XLs, and a private bathroom with large walk-in shower (this bathroom also has a door to the main hallway).

Guests have use of the entrie house with exception of the Primary bedroom closet. Two other full closests are available in the other nearby bedrooms and hooks are available in the primary bedroom.

The home was beautiful and in pristine condition. It had everything one would need for a family beach vacation. It is a 10-15 minute walk to Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs and a 5 minute car ride. The house had towels (for the bathroom and the beach), bedding, beach chairs, and board games. The wifi worked. The air conditioning ran smoothly. I would highly recommend this rental.

One of my favorite properties, ever. The home was spacious, clean, with high-quality furniture, appliances, bathrooms and beds. There was only four of us, but could easily accommodate double that comfortably. The neighborhood was quiet and tucked away but walkable (15 minutes) to downtown Oak Bluffs. Bonus that MV now offers free bus and you can pretty much get anywhere on the island (along with Uber or bike). We had a car but didn't use it all the time. We will definitely be back.

This was our 8th time (I think) staying at Dot’s House. So, needless to say, we’re big fans! The house is beautiful - spacious, clean, and stocked with everything you might need. The location is wonderful - private, but a short walk into town. Some (there are many!) of our favorite things: enjoying coffee on the private master bedroom balcony every morning, sitting in the rockers on the screened in porch watching the wildlife/listening to the birds, using the outdoor shower, knowing I don’t have to bring beach towels, chairs, umbrellas or bikes or games and stuff to do at night because all of that AND MORE are right there for you!!!! I’m addition, the host is great with communication! I cannot say enough about this property! We love it and will keep coming back every year!

End of Season Stay

We (four couples) take an annual end of season trip to the Vineyard. We decided to try a new property this year and after much research we picked Dot’s House. We could not have made a better choice. The house is beautiful and well laid out. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The dining table was perfect to gather for a meal or a game and the deck and porch were perfect for quiet relaxation. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and well appointed. The whole first floor has the perfect layout to hang out. We would love to stay again!

This was a great place that was close enough to the town center, but tucked away so that we could retreat at night. There were multiple adults in the house and we were able to each find our space to work, eat, relax on the days we stayed in.

The best rental property in Oak Bluffs!

It’s always a pleasure to stay in this beautiful home with modern amenities and a short walk or ride to town. The convenience of bikes, fishing poles, beach gear and towels, and laundry service make this such a breeze. The owners are extremely accommodating to any requests and maintain the place in pristine condition. O can’t recommend it more highly!

This place is amazing! Before I forget, the private outside shower is an absolute must. I think I took all my showers out there, as did the kids! Not only does keep the sand out, it just feels amazing and with the sun to dry you outside - bliss. The house is fantastic - the photos are great, but I would say it’s even more so in person. It really feels like a modern home, everything is well equipped and the hosts are clearly creating a thoughtful retreat. Cooking there was an absolute joy. The decks are wonderful, including the screened off porch. It’s also super helpful to have beach chairs available, etc. The location is also great, it close to everything but private. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

Great MV July 4th week

We stayed for our second time with Liz at Dot’s house and found it to be an excellent vacation destination. It is remote and quite for a backyard barbecue, but walking distance to downtown Oak Bluffs. The house is very well kept and we appreciate Liz’s quick responses to a couple of questions. We are (eagerly ) looking forward to another trip to Dot’s house in 2025!

Wonderful house!

We had an amazing stay at Dot’s house - it was so clean and comfortable and had so many nice touches for those with kids! There were books, beach toys, and kid plates, cups etc that were especially appreciated. The screened in porch was delightful for sitting in the evenings. We loved all of the host’s tips and with the shortcut path found it to be a quick walk into town. We hold love to stay here again!

Dot’s House is Awesome!

Exactly as advertised. Very clean four bedroom house. Large kitchen and dining area made family meals and game nights fun. We would definitely stay at Dot’s House again! Our only very minor comment would be to maybe add a free standing clothes rack in the main bedroom. The main suite closet was locked (which is totally understandable) but it would’ve been nice to be able to hang some of our clothes in the room. The overall experience was wonderful! Thank you!

Wedding weekend

We are a family of four who love the island more than anything in the world. I was raised as a year round resident of the island, but am raising my family in the Boston area. We split our time between Boston and the Island and are thrilled to have built a home for our friends, family, and guests!

Why they chose this property

The land on which this home was built was purchased in 1966 by Dorothy House, the great-grandmother of the current homeowner. Dorothy was an Oak Bluffs businesswoman who owned Dot’s Restaurant (now the Mad Martha’s location) and later Dot’s Snacks (now the Edgartown National Bank branch next to the Flying Horses). She lived for many years in a Gingerbread cottage at the end of Circuit Ave (now Cousin Rose Art Gallery). Her great-granddaughter remembers her fondly and is thrilled to have had the opportunity to turn the land purchased a half-century ago into a home shared by friends and family. In her memory, we have named this home Dot’s House.

What makes this property unique

This home has all the modern conveniences one would want in a vacation rental, while still honoring the charm of victorian architecture. We built this home with multiple groups in mind, which means there is plenty of room for everyone to be together, while still having private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms for everyone's enjoyment and relaxation.

The home is in the perfect location: You can walk or bike to town and enjoy the hustle and bustle of OB, but return to the serenity of this home, which is nestled on a quiet street. The screened in porch provides a quiet enjoyment into the evening.
