About this property

A three bedroom, two bathroom that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms

Town Farm Cottage is one of seventeen holiday cottages at Town Farm, on the edge of the Chilterns. We are a working arable farm, with some sheep over the surrounding hills, we are lucky to have views over to Ivinghoe Beacon on one side, and Aylesbury Vale on the other. All the cottages each have their own unique charm, and we also run a campsite during the summer months. The `Pick Your Own` opens in June and guests can take a picnic and stock up on fruit and vegetables - this is a five minute drive away. It is only a ten minute drive to Tring Railway Station, shops and facilities, or a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe village, with pub, shop and tea room. London Euston is a 40 minute train ride from Tring Station.

The cottage is a two storey property with kitchen, sitting room and three bedrooms (one double and one single).

The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a large pine dining table which comfortably seats five.

The kitchen leads on to the sitting room, via a step, which has two sofas and flat screen TV and DVD player.

Upstairs there are one double and two twin bedrooms, with wardrobe and chest of drawers.

The property has access to a tennis court available to hire, games room and a children`s play area on the farm.

Parking for two cars is available at the side of the property. Up to two pets are welcome in the property, please let us know on booking.

Wi-fi is included in the rental.

We request a refundable GBP100 damage deposit for stays of up to 27 days, and one week`s rental for stays of over 28 days. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.

Town Farm Cottage is centrally heated by oil, and is serviced weekly with a change of linen and towels.

Cottage Stay
We have been living at Town Farm cottage for a month now while we are waiting to move into our new build. We absolutely love it. The cottage is home from home and has everything we need to make our stay comfortable. The views are also amazing, looking up towards Ivinghoe Beacon.

Lovely cottage. Glorious view. Lovely atmosphere.
Town farm cottage was glorious. Lovely space. Nicely decorated. In good condition. The view of ivinghoe beacon is to die for and it’s there for you in every room of the house. We stayed for an extended period of time while we had building work done and loved it - we plan to return next summer for a holiday for sure. My only word of warning is the proximity to the playground if you have young children and aren’t there on holiday. On the plus side the playground is literally out of your window - Nipping there for 10 minutes was so easy. My kids adored it. On the downside in the summer holidays the playground equipment is overrun by teenagers in the evenings which is a bit annoying when you’re trying to get your children to sleep. With windows closed this is fine but on weekend nights it’s loud until up to 10pm. That said, it’s 2 nights a week for 6 weeks and was partly on us for not being their for a holiday. If that’s the biggest gripe you have with a place though you know it’s not bad at all.

Amazing Find
We have had a few teams staying at the Town Farm Cottages over the last few months while working away. Our guys have loved the location of the cottages, they have been able to go bike riding and exploring when not on site. We have stayed in Grooms Cottage, The Homestead, Town Farm Cottage, The Cowmans and even the Barnyard. Any issues that our staff may have had were quickly and efficiently dealt with by Angie and her team in bookings. We would highly recommend a stay here are these lovely cottages

About the host

Host profile image
I originally come from Cape Town, South Africa, and my home is now on the farm in Ivinghoe. My husband's family have owned Town Farm since the 1930's, it is an arable farm, with some sheep farming. Our brother in law also has a "Pick your own" just down the road, with everything from Asparagus in Spring, strawberries, and a long list of fresh vegetables throughout the summer into Autumn. We now have 17 cottages on site, which we started converting from barns in 1995. Many of our guests have enjoyed staying with us from all parts of the world and appreciate the beautiful countryside around us and there is always plenty to do.

Why they chose this property

All our properties are comfortably furnished and offer all the convenience of your own home, all with fully equipped kitchens, some with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Linen and towels are also provided, together with an information pack in the property, with a list of local activities and things to do.

What makes this property unique

We love the area because you can be in the middle of the countryside one minute and hopping on the train for a 50 minute ride to London the next. The Chilterns offer a wide variety of activities, from National Trust properties, walking through the bluebell woodlands, driving through the picturesque "Midsomer" villages, to visiting Tring Zoological museum, swooping down the real snow in Milton Keynes Snozone, or playing Top Golf in Watford. All within 30/40 minutes of the farm.

We are also close to the Grand Union Canal which stretches from London to Birmingham and which offers leisurely walks and boat hire. We are also only around an hour from Stratford on Avon, a little further to Oxford and Cambridge, and is a good basis for sightseeing.
