Situated a short hop from Archway tube station, this achingly cool four-bedroom residence exudes Edwardian splendour as it first catches your eye across a quiet tree-lined street. Stepping inside, exquisite period details are effortlessly enhanced by contemporary flourishes and a rose-tinted palette that grants this generous family home an unmistakably delicious feel...
Exuberant throughout with its pastel shades and confident adventures in colour, the fearless mélange of textures and tones begins in the open-plan kitchen and dining space. Infused with effervescent charm, the owner’s flawless design credentials are immediately apparent. Everything is in perfect equilibrium here with a whitewashed dining table in sync with the deep indigo hues and luminescent accent lighting of the exemplary kitchen units. Beyond, double French doors invitingly tease you out to the garden.
Emboldened by liberal lashings of pink (even the guitar gets in on the act) that skillfully contrast with the whitewashed back wall, the soulful living room bursts with bohemian splendour. Rattan furniture and an ornate fireplace further accentuate the refined period detail. The marriage of contemporary and period styling renews its vows in the principal bedroom, resplendent with reclaimed vintage furniture, mint décor, and elegant shuttered windows that look out across verdant trees. Midnight blue shades bid you a restorative night’s sleep in the second-floor bedroom, while an exemplary study in minimalism is served up in the remaining sleeping spaces, boasting clean lines and calming house plants. It's a natural aesthetic that’s also retained in the family bathroom, featuring a bath and built-in shower. There's also a further WC bathroom on the ground floor.
Is this Archway or sun-kissed Sydney? Bask in the glow of the low evening sun with an apéritif around one of the garden seating areas and for the briefest of seconds you could easily be in sunnier climes abroad. While that trip to Oz may have to wait for another time, the prospect of a hop to the continent is eminently possible here, given this home’s excellent travel connections to nearby London St Pancras International...
