About this property

The Old Joinery, Cley-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

Refurbished in 2021 The Old Joinery is a charming, single storey property, tucked away on a quiet lane, yet only a couple of minutes' walk to the centre of the village of Cley-next-the-Sea with all its fantastic amenities.

With a bright sitting/dining room with french doors leading to the fully enclosed garden, a well-equipped kitchen and two delightful bedrooms it is ideal for couples or a small family looking for a comfortable home from home in this pretty coastal village. There is ample space to park two cars to the rear of the property which is a bonus in Cley, especially during busy times.

There is so much to see and do here right on the doorstep with independent shops, galleries, coastal walks and the beach that you may want to stay put, but you can also venture out to nearby villages like Blakeney, where you can go crabbing from the Quay or take a boat trip out to see the seals or Wiveton, where you will find the renowned Wiveton Hall and Cafe. To go further afield you can even leave the car and take the Coasthopper Bus, which will take you to many other pretty villages and beaches along the coast in either direction.

Perfect for a coastal escape whatever the season.

Good location, lovely garden, but poor welcome and one or two issues for an expensive property
Lovely location, great property for two independent people. The property was expensive and although there were small supplies of toilet paper and dish washer tabs there wasn’t any washing powder. It would have helped to have enough for a week. No milk or bread etc as one might have expected as the brochure indicated that there would be basic supples for the first couple of days. One shower tray leaked badly and the other couldn’t be switched from hose to overhead. It might be useful to have a book where guests can highlight these issues. The blind in the twin room had been reported several times in the guest review book but was still broken!!

Recommended for a stay in Cley
Excellent location, quiet but within walking distance of the deli, pub and bus stop, and it is about a mile walk to the beach. Clean, comfortable and warm. Lovely area for walks and we enjoyed a boat trip out to Blakeney to see the seals. We recommend the nearby visitor centre which has a cafe and panoramic view over the marshes and we had an excellent meal at the George & Dragon.

A lovely place to stay
I chose this cottage after contacting Emma at Hideaways. she suggested several properties that could possibly meet my requirements. We chose the old Joinery- mainly because of location (central Cley) but also we needed to accommodate our small Motorhome (23ft length) and an additional car, this it did without any problem and we could turn it on the drive. The neighbour (Maureen?) was delightfull and parked her car thoughtfuly. It is a short walk back into Cley- Would recommed the cottage to anyone that really wants a lovely cottage in a very quiet location. Well equipped, Special Thankyou to Emma-she really knows her propery portfolio.

Lovely location!
We had a lovely short break at the Old Joinery. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. It was in a perfect location, close to the centre of Cley and lots of places to visit. It was also very, very quiet there at night which helped make for a very relaxing break.
