Wonderful!

Our family had a wonderful experience! The gazebo was great for keeping the kids busy fishing during the day and the adults enjoying quiet evenings relaxing. The beach is nearby as well, but we felt this might have been better than actually staying on the beach. Great Time!

Perfect relaxation hub

From the first request of this property, I knew that Kathy took pride in her vacation home, and for good reason! We have rented scores of homes along the Carolina coast, and this place is spotless, has a slew of kitchen supplies and towels, plenty of parking (not for lifted vehicles under garage tho), and comfy beds. We split our time cooking and hanging out in the large living room or, more often, hanging on the dock watching boats and wildlife. We even saw a manatee on afternoon….first time ever for us Carolinians! We rented a golf cart from Icon to get to the beach, down to Britts and Stoked (delish). Kathy let us charge it from outlets under the house…although it did not fit under the carport! Note that during the strawberry full moon (and maybe more full Moons) the tides rise higher than normal and north end on the sound tends to flood a bit, hence some rough roads and evening street closures. Just something to be aware of but definitely not a detraction from the home. Out of 1-10, we give it an 11!! 😎

The perfect family reunion

We were so lucky to be able to stay at Anchored Soundly. It had everything we wanted for our family reunion — large spaces for gathering, small areas for contemplation, plenty of dishes and glasses, and best of all, a newly built private gazebo on the intracoastal waterway. Even during the heat of the day, there were breezes there, and we treated it like a second living room. Kathy couldn't have been more responsive and helpful. The place was immaculate when we arrived, including fresh sheets and towels, which was a HUGE plus — schlepping linens to and from a rental is not relaxing nor fun. We had originally wanted an oceanfront rental, but being on the waterway was so much more interesting with all the boats coming and going and the lights across the harbor at night. Carolina Beach is continuing to undergo a transformation — there are hipster places to satisfy some tastes but plenty of the old Carolina Beach charm to keep it grounded. Definitely stay here!

Great Water Views

Very nice house on the water. The views from the back deck and the sunsets where great. Everything was very clean. The new dock deck was our favorite spot.

Carolina Beach - June 2021

Kathy and Thomas were very goods hosts. The property was very clean and was "as advertised." The check-in and check-out process was seamless. All amenities we needed from cooking to bedding supplies were provided. Our family very much enjoyed their stay.

Thomas and Kathy live a little over 2 hours from Carolina Beach in Wake County. We love spending time at our beach house. Kathy loves running and kayaking and Thomas loves fishing. Together we enjoy bike riding. We have 3 children, all of them married, and 6 grandchildren, the oldest being 5 years old. What fun the family has being together! When we are not using our beach house we will rent it out but we like to speak with potential renters first.

Why they chose this property

We have always vacationed at Carolina Beach and we bought this property in 2016 because we love the location on the sound! Thomas can fish and Kathy can kayak and together they can boat!
