Montegemoli was also the birthplace of Dante Alighieri's mother and there is a garden dedicated to her on the estate. The location is particularly convenient for sightseeing and in short drive distance it is possible to reach the famous artistic Tuscan town of Volterra, as well as the beaches or wine destinations around Bolgheri, famous for the Sassicaia and Ornellaia wine production. Furthermore to reach San Gimignano it takes less than on hour drive while Siena and Pisa are around at one hour drive, Florence and Lucca instead can be reached in around one and half hours.
