Mellieha Holiday

Communication with Saviour was great throughout and the property was lovely. Mellieha was a great place to stay and good public transport links made it easy to get around to see a lot of the country. A very nice place to stay.

Rien à dire sur l'accueil. Savior était accueillant. Pour ce qui est de la location en revanche... Elle était sûrement très bien il y a quelques années. Maintenant c'est une catastrophe. Déjà : 1ère alerte, la climatisation n'est présente que dans les 2 chambres et elle est PAYANTE ! Ceci n'est pas une blague. Dans un pays où il fait 27°C la nuit, et qui plus est dans une location qui se trouve sur le toit d'une propriété et dont la pièce principale est entièrement vitrée sans volet, la climatisation est payante. Cette information ne figure nulle part dans l'annonce. D'autre part, il n'y a donc pas de clim dans la pièce principale la chaleur est infernale. A notre arrivée le ménage était fait, les sanitaires étaient propres, le sol d'une propreté irréprochable. En revanche, le frigo était ignoble avec du moisie à l'intérieur. J'ai passé 1h à le nettoyer avant d'envisager y stocker quoique ce soit. Avis au prochain locataire, le frigo propre, c'est moi. Le canapé est hors d'âge et surtout... surtout.. ne soulevez pas les coussins. N'essayez même pas de jeter un oeil, même tout petit. C'est indescriptible et répugnant. Les lits étaient fait à notre arrivée. Malheureusement, une paire de draps sentait très fort le mal séché. Nous avons eu le malheur de fermer la porte de la chambre, après 1h en plein soleil, l'odeur était étouffante. Le lave linge est vieux mais fonctionne, en revanche le bac à lessive est sale et on y trouve aussi des traces de moisissures. Autre information : L'arrière du frigo déborde dans la salle de bain. Pour faire rentrer le frigo dans la cuisine il a fallu percer un trou dans le mur qui communique avec la salle de bain. Voilà. Niveau intimité et hygiène on rêve mieux. L'ensemble de l'équipement est vieux, tout comme l'appartement en lui même. Les espaces extérieurs sont grands mais malheureusement inutilisable : un seul parasol, pas très grand. Une seule toute petite table en fer avec des chaises du même acabit au confort très relatif. En plein soleil c'est un enfer. Comme indiqué, la piscine se trouve un étage en dessous. L'escalier permettant d'accéder au logement et d'ailleurs raide et étroit. Si vous avez de grosses valises, bonne chance. La piscine est propre mais son accès est difficile. Les marches qui permettent de rentrer et sortir de l'eau sont contre un mur. Le parasol qui s'y trouve est ridiculement petit. Bref, nous sommes partie après seulement une nuit et aucun remboursement de la part de Savior.

Schöne Wohnung mit toller Aussicht

Fewo Mellieha Das Apartment ist die Dachgeschosswohnung eines Mehrfamilienhauses mit diversen Mieteinheiten. Der Eigentümer wohnt direkt unterhalb der Wohnung und ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Man hat vom Balkon eine tolle Aussicht über Mellieha und die Bucht rüber nach Gozo. Direkt auf dem Balkon ist der Whirlpool, der eigentliche Pool ist hinter dem Haus, liegt leider direkt neben einer Vogelvoliere eine Etage tiefer. Die Wohnung ist abgeschlossen, man ist ungestört für sich und das Mobiliar ist recht modern. Die Möbel und die Ausstattung sind aber etwas in die Jahre gekommen und einige Dinge müssten sicherlich mal erneuert werden. Es gibt keine Kaffeemaschine und keinen Fön, also entsprechend vorsorgen. Die Bettwäsche und Handtücher sind für die gesamte Aufenthaltsdauer vorgesehen, dank Waschmaschine ist das aber kein Thema. Die Wohnung heizt sich tagsüber stark auf, generell sind bei schönem Wetter Schattenplätze sehr begrenzt, es gibt auch nur einen kleinen Sonnenschirm. Im Sommer kommt man sicherlich nicht ohne Klimaanlage (Extrakosten) aus, bei unserem Urlaub Anfang Juni war es nachts noch einigermaßen auszuhalten. Abends gibt es hier Mosquitos, also entsprechende Mittel mitnehmen. Das Müllsammelsystem ist noch komplizierter als in Deutschland, jede Müllsorte muss in einer eigenen Beutelfarbe (werden nicht gestellt!) gesammelt werden. Der Müll wird dann aber sehr häufig abgeholt. Das Stadtzentrum kann problemlos zu Fuss erreicht werden (10 min). Insgesamt also empfehlenswert, man muss sich halt auf die benannten Themen einlassen. Preis / Leistung ist insofern noch ok.

Schicke, großzügige Penthouswohnung

Die Wohnung liegt in einem gepflegten und ruhigen Villenviertel und bietet viel Raum, vor allem mit den beiden großen Terrassen und dem privaten Pool. Die Einrichtung ist schick, die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet, die Betten sind in gutem Zustand, die Sofas sind etwas abgenutzt. Von der Wohnung aus hat man durch die großen Glasfronten einen sehr schönen Blick auf das Meer. Durch diese Glasfronten kühlt die Wohnung allerdings auch relativ schnell aus bzw. heizt sich auf. Es gibt keine Jalousien und die Klimaanlage wird laut Hausregel pro Gerät zusätzlich abgerechnet. Wir haben sie allerdings nicht gebraucht, wie auch den (kalten) Jakuzzi, da es im Mai überwiegend noch recht kühl und vor allem windig war. Zum Einkaufen findet man im nahen Supermarkt (Valyou) ein hervorrgendes Angebot, auch frische Backwaren vom lokalen Bäcker. Einige gute Restaurants in Mellieha, vor allem die alte Mühle (Mithna) ist sehr empfehlenswert. Ein Mietwagen ist für die Lage der Wohnung sinnvoll. Die Vermieter sind korrekt und hilfsbereit.

Great Location, Incredible View

2nd visit to Malta after a 30 year gap. Great weather, great historic buildings. Food and drink were of good quality and very good value. Accommodation was great, loved the pool and hot tub. Highly recommended.
