Here the holidaymaker has easy access to the surrounding countryside, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. The bustling market town of Kirkby Stephen is 2.5 miles - the Coast to Coast walk passes through here and the town also has a station on the Settle-Carlisle railway. Appleby, with its castle, swimming pool and famous annual horse fair, is 9 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2.5 miles.
