Markham Cottage is a beautiful barn conversion situated in the town of Weymouth in Dorset in and benefits from one level access and a terrace. The cottage can sleep 4 people in 1 double and 1 twin single bedrooms as well has a family bathroom. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen/dining/sitting room. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for 1 car. Markham Cottage is perfect for couples quiet retreat short drive from town centre.

Town: Wyke Regis sits on the south western side of Weymouth and the northern edges of Portland harbour whilst reaching as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet. 2 miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including The famous Crab House café, with it’s own Oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing school, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just 2 miles away on the edge of Portland harbour. The Fleet lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area. Chesil beach is also a renown spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic coast.

Great cottage

We travel about and stay in lots of cottages, this one is about as good as it gets. Could not fault anything, unlike most cottages the kitchen knives are sharp - fantastic. Internet good, lots of hot water, good kitchen appliances etc etc. There is a DVD play and lots of DVDs in unit, didn’t find them until half way through the stay. It is comfortable with lots of room, the kitchen, dinner, lounge is very spacious. Nice views from the patio mainly countryside and far off houses with a little bit of the harbour. As some have said the property is down a steep drive BUT the cottage has its own parking space and unless you have walking issue it isn’t a problem at all. The cottage is down a lane so worth understanding the directions before you arrive.
