About this property

The Steading cottage with large gardens, south-facing patio with great views!

A beautiful 3 bedroomed cottage, formerly a steading built in 1809 and converted in 1992, and now newly refurbished, the property has 2 double bedrooms and a bedroom with bunk beds. One en-suite bathroom and a family shower room, a large and bright kitchen/diner to seat 6 with a door to the south facing garden, and a warm and light sitting room with a gas 'wood burning stove'. The property is modern and comfortable, and is suitable for up to 4 adults and 2 children. It is within the grounds of Ladywell House, and benefits from an acre of walled garden, and is surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland. The Steading has very recently been refurbished with new shower room and bathroom, redecoration and full upgrade. The cottage is very smart and as beautiful as Ladywell House, details of which can be seen on that listing!

Cottage in Falkland
This was a wonderful place for me and my two teens to stay while one of them started university at St Andrews. It's a quiet farmhouse on the edge of the pretty and historic village of Falkland, with easy access to both country walks and shops/restaurants. For us it was ideal in every way.

Modern cottage and great location
The cottage was very clean and modern. The cleaning standard on departure is pretty high. The location of the cottage is very close to the Ladywell House and is not mentioned as clearly in the descirption. Duncan is a very good host and we felt very welcome upon arrival.

About the host

Host profile image
I bought the Steading cottage with Ladywell House in 2005, and have lived in the property since 2010 while letting the 'Big House'. It has been a wonderful home for us, and we are moving to a larger property near Perth.

Why they chose this property

Quiet and beautiful. Set amidst hundreds of acres of farmland and within an acre of walled garden, The Steading has a private south facing garden with stunning views. Double glazed and centrally heated, with a gas 'wood burner' in the sitting room, the cottage is very warm and comfortable.

What makes this property unique

All on one level, and suitable for those with mobility issues, the house is warm and cosy.
