Lodge at the base of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling that sleeps twelve people.
About Rosemary Meads
I am an avid skier; I've been skiing since the 1980's and love the Victorian High Country. I am interested in outdoor activities such as bushwalking, photography and my family enjoys mountain biking and wate skiing in the area too.
Rosemary Meads purchased this House in 2011
Why Rosemary Meads chose Merrijig
This property was architecturally designed and built by the owner in the early 1980's and is an iconic representation of Australian alpine architecture with soaring cedar ceilings, a family sized open fire, multiple living spaces and and established garden that is dog-friendly. Nestled amongst the gums, this property provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and allows you to immerse yourself in nature.
What makes this House unique
The lodge sleeps 12 people in normal beds and we offer two very comfortable fold out beds for young children, where a couple of families are booking and need the extra beds. This house and yard are wonderful for families who want to bring their dog/s.

Not safe for kids stay
The dining chairs have wheels on and very easy to move. The kids fell off from the chairs and were scared. Thank god, no one hurts!!! The small platform was directly screwed on the plaster of the wall in the bedroom and put a big vase and an iron status on it. However, the plaster can not bear weight! If anyone just stands under that platform, it may cause a serious hurt issue. And the owner just lives downstairs watching you when you are there. It is extremely weird. In total, this house is not suitable for the family with little kids or need more privacy.
I provide a high chair for young children you should have used it.
You also only decided to tell me on the day you were arriving that you were bringing extra people and that they were very young, you should have been honest when you booked.
These guests damaged a wall in bedroom 2 and are trying to deny it even though I have photos, no other guests have caused that sort of damage. As for their comments about being unsafe I have been hosting families with children since 2012 and the house is totally safe and well set up and families love it ! I might point out that these guests did not read the information about the house prior to booking and on the day of check in I set up extra beds when they told me they were bringing young children !!! These guests had children screaming for so long and so loud neighbours down the road could hear them in their homes!!! - i received complaints about the screaming.
I advertise that the property has a part time manager on site - The manager is totally private and removed from the guests and is only a concern when guests are extremely loud and causing damage. There is NO impact to guests privacy they have the whole house and yard...
it is no different to a BNB where the property manager is on-site.
Rosemary - Property Manager
Our stay and Two mountains was very warm and comfortable with everything we needed for our two families of four adults and 5 kids.
The manager was very responsive to our communication.
House was very clean and modern with great amenities. Will book again for sure.
We had an amazing Easter at this beautiful property that has everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend.
Accommodation with no shortcomings
We were extremely satisfied with the accommodation. There was so much. First the box of chocolates which we didn't realise was for us, then the fireplace with ample wood, the large stove and oven, the coffee machine with pods, the bathroom with all the necessities and of course the pool table with the many games and legos' kept the kids occupied for hours. The location was ideal within a few minutes to Mt. Buller entry gates. Absolutely neat and tidy with ample outdoor space and bbq and gas heater outside.
Experienced a fabulous stay at Two Mountains Lodge. Clean, comfortable, well decked out with all appliances required to enable our large family to truly enjoy our stay. Billiard table was a definite hit as was the fire pit out the back.
Take advantage of The Mill Inn (5 minutes away) for a fantastic meal!
