Our favorite place for dinner is Squeeta's because its right on the Marina (Foreshore Drive), so the view is lovely... and the food is really good too! May be a good idea to book as it can get busy, (08) 9964 1619
Nice pub for a quiet drink is Latitude 28 on Chapman Road. Freemasons Hotel, top end of the mall, does a good pub meal and the Provincial in the West-end is a funky bar with a friendly vibe.
I love Quiet Life Cafe which is just around the corner, at the end of our street (on Marine Terrace), for brekky or a quick snack. Other great cafes are Café Fleur, Flow Vitality (Gregory St, just down from the best fruit and vege market in Geraldton), and the Jaffle Shacks (there are two), one in the West-end and the other on the eastern end of the Foreshore.
You can stroll out to the end of the Esplanade, at the end of our street, to view into the port and across to Seal Rocks. Then it’s a short walk to town and you can follow the Foreshore pathway all the way to the Marina. If you continue past the Marina houses you will come across the Donor Awareness Fountain and a small north facing beach.
It’s well worthwhile to check out our amazing museum which is also by the water at the Marina. It has a 'shipwreck's gallery' which is awesome. There were so many Dutch sailing ships wrecked on our coast and at the Abrolhos Islands. While there find time to see the 3D HMS Sydney underwater film, it's unforgettable!
Sydney Memorial on Mt Scott is a must-see too and is a good vantage point to view Geraldton.
There is so much more and luckily our fabulous Visitors Centre is close by as well (on Marine Terrace halfway between the cottage and the CBD) so you can get some good advice there.
Our end (the West-end) is the groovy part of town :) Lots of street art and some nice shops. If you find Latitude Gallery open (just across the road from Roma and Cavania, two fab stores) check out the beautiful Abrohlos pearls and some local art. Also, ACDC Art Gallery is in the same part of town and our Regional Art Gallery is on the corner of Chapman Rd and Durlacher St and has free entry to some amazing exhibitions.
You should find heaps to do. We have loads of lovely uncrowded beaches and don’t forget to visit our gorgeous lighthouse at Pt Moore.
We hope you have a fabulous stay. We love Geraldton and want everyone else to as well!

Why Rose Holdaway and Peter Berryman chose Geraldton
We love old stone homes. Living in one ourselves, we realised how wonderfully they were built to meet the local conditions. When this little cottage became available just up the street, we jumped at the opportunity to buy it.
What makes this Cottage unique
A unique original Geraldton home, this little cottage once was a home for large families. Opposite the Geraldton Recreation Grounds, it has a peaceful outlook and is just a short stroll to the CBD and Foreshore beaches.
