A week alone in the mountains

A good place to enjoy some quiet time, yet it is a convenient drive to the town of Black Mountain, and the city of Asheville also nearby. The cabin is very well maintained and comfortable.

Quick Weekend Getaway

We found this cozy cabin in looking for a weekend getaway to Asheville. It was comfortable, clean, and quiet, as well as only about a 30-minute drive from Asheville itself. It was exactly what we were looking for!

Cabin in rhe woods

The cabin and surroundings were very good. The only drawback was the gravel road off of Route 9 but it still was easily driveable.

Great mountain get-away

What a beautiful, clean cabin. It's so far away from everything yet so many things are just a short drive away - Black Mountain, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock. I really enjoyed walking the gravel road and fantastic view from the top.

Quiet, peaceful, and comfy

I stayed here on my first weekend away from my children in almost 4 years. I had nothing but peace and quiet the entire time. The scenery just outside the cabin was so calming. I will definitely be staying here again when I need some time away!

Our second year returning to this exquisite remote cabin nestled sweetly into the wooded mountains..

The setting is secluded and magical, with the silence of breeze, trees and birdsong. The cabin is immaculate and inviting, with everything we need. The hosts are generous, gracious and thoroughly thoughtful. We cannot wait for our next getaway to the High Rocck Cabin

Wonderful in the Woods

A beautiful and private cabin off the beaten path. Grateful for the calm and quiet space. Written directions got us two the cabin, but they could use an editor to make them a little clearer and easier to follow.

Cute & Clean Cabin in the woods

We enjoyed our stay, cute, clean, and simple little cabin. Close enough to town, but still far enough away for peace and privacy. The road to get there wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. You may not want to take your sports car or low clearance vehicle, but we didn't need to put our Tacoma in 4WD.

Quaint cabin

The gravel road getting there is a bit bumpy, but it's well worth it. Nice deck for breakfast coffee, get your steps in on a walk up the gravel road to the mountain overlook, great smells all around for our doggie. Bring any food you need so you don't have to drive out again. Stay, relax, enjoy the beauty of nature.

Perfect mountain getaway!

Just about everything was perfect- the cottage was lovely and the location a perfect middle spot for all we wanted to do. Black Mountain is just a gem of a town And incredible hiking is all around. Would flag we got zero cell service (Att and T-Mobile). We actually loved this “inconvenience” so not complaining but always think it’s good to know for others.

Very Clean!

When reviewing places to stay I always look at reviews for the cleanliness of a rental. This property did not disappoint. We were not able to spend much time there and due to the distance from where we had our activities, we left early morning and did not arrive back till late at night, but everything was in place and I loved it. Thank you Mary Beth for a great stay!

We built this little cabin ourselves, with help from a few of our friends. We lived here until 2006 when we outgrew it. We have built a larger cabin that shares 2 acres with the rental cabin. We live there with our family, so we are close by if you need anything. We love our woods and the town of Black Mountain!
